I was asked to expound upon zen meditation elsewhere - so I decided to start a new thread. It is my personal experience that this practice will help integrate your understanding and learning about lucid dreaming - and how it can both be reflected in and enhanced by your life during the waking hours. Just a little caution - meditation is like lucid dreaming in that reading endlessly about it is totally different from practicing it. And - it is all about the practice. The more you read about lucid dreaming - the more it can actually drag you down if you are not also practicing. This is true of zen meditation.

Also - the most important thing to do is zazen (the term for sitting meditation). It is actually the position that matters. And counting your breaths. It is a very simple practice - but you will learn amazing things through it. Below is a quick how to link from an extremely well respected monastery in the US. If you live near it - you can also go to one of their sessions. But - that is not a necessity for getting started.

My friend just got back from a 10 day silent meditation retreat. Nearly a 100% of the participants talked about lucid dreaming during the 10 days when the silence was finally broken - and many of them had not even heard of the concept beforehand. It is powerful.

I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can - but I will not pretend to be a substitute for a true zen teacher. Just trying to get people excited about related subjects. Learn to stop putting lucid dreaming in a totally different bucket from your waking life. Don't ignore gravity - or you'll get yourself killed. But - realize that there are far fewer constraints than we are taught.
