Lucid Day Dream or What?

Ok so I didn't see anything about this, but picture yourself back in school. The teacher is boring you to death and you put your head down and day dream. You eventually slip into a light sleep, and a dream, and within 2 to 3 seconds after your in the light dream sleep you realize you want to become lucid and BOOM you wake up and only three to ten minutes have went by. What would this be called exactly? Because I have had this happen multiple time I was just curious if anyone can shed some light on the subject.

That's not day dreaming, dude. That's just called falling asleep and entering another dream. This is called dreaming.

It's hard to tell exactly what you mean - are you talking about visualising a situation in your head such as actively imagining being somewhere else? This is commonly what 'daydreaming' is referring to

If you mean slipping into a state where you start to see and hear a dream such as when you're first beginning to go to sleep at night, this is simply just you starting to fall to sleep. If you continued all the way into sleep it would be possible to become lucid, but in this light stage of sleep the jolt of awareness that you're starting to doze off brings you back. The WILD technique actively pushes you past this point while you calm your mind - keeping thoughts to a minimum as you allow yourself to stay conscious as you go through this stage into a proper dream.

You can, but seeing as you were only asleep for 10 minutes or so, you don't be in the dream for very long, either. Also, you should be paying attention to your class ;)

Okay, it's pretty scary, that you all have the same avatar, man! :shock:

I'm sure you were dreaming. You can't be "lucid" when you daydream, because you know it's daydreaming, and control it all by yourself. I've tried something like that once(not lucid), but after a while the teacher detroyed my dream, by screaming: "WAKE UP".

(It was a old, boring, sleepy movie, and I was so tired, because of insomnia.
Show us "Inception" in school, then I promise, I don't falls asleep. ;) )
