Vibrations During Classes?

Usually, I would need about 10 minutes in bed, concentrating, focusing, until I feel these vibrations whenever I try WILDing... It takes so much time and effort just entering this vibration phase..

But! Whenever in school, where I'm usually on the verge of falling asleep but not always, I'd just simply put my head on my desk, and automatically feel these vibrations, twice it had almost gone into a real WILD when I got the chance to really fall asleep. Has anybody ever experienced something like this? Because with me, it's everyday that I'd put my head down during class.. . which is odd, in my opinion.

Also, what exactly are these 'vibrations' called, and its explanation? Is there any other term for it? As I've read here on the site, it's been connected to LDing, SP of course, and the beginning of going into OBE, or is it simply a state where we're fully conscious as we're falling asleep?

What's your opinion on it?

I know what you mean about the vibrations I get them too. When I lie in bed and try to fall asleep, I lie perfectly still and don't think about anything (the hardest thing ever) and then I would get a random vibration or a shimmer but it gets me too excited because I know that means I am about to fall asleep so most of the times I don't fall asleep :|. But I think it is normal thing and when I went to school it happened a lot more and easier and usually I fell sleep no matter what. (I think it's normal as I can do it, but I am not sure if it really normal at all been wondering the same thing haha).

lol imagine having a WILD in your classroom sitting up in your desk, that would be amazing and seemingly hard to accomplish. About the vibrations, I don't know the technical term for them or anthing but whenever I WILD, right before I enter the LD, I feel these vibrations and a ringing noise in my ears.

I've read before that those vibrations are actually the sensation of your body falling asleep while you are still conscious. You go into a kind of paralysis when you enter sleep mode, to prevent you from acting out on your dreams and getting into a lot of trouble (thank goodness), and when you're asleep normally, you don't feel it. Some people only feel this when they're awakening, and it's a much more distressing sensation then.

The reason this happens to you in class is probably because you're in a position that is not especially comfortable for sleep, and maybe part of you is trying to stay awake at the time. So your brain is staying up, while your body is quickly moving into sleep mode.
