What the hell is happening to me?

Long story short, I'm at the beach with my girl and I lay down to take a nap. I wake up about an hour later, and right away close my eyes to start sleeping some more.

All the sudden my whole body went numb, and I get this like electric/tingly feeling "ring" or "head band" that I feel around my head, and then all the sudden all of the electric feeling switches from being a ring around my head and it all gathers right at the very top/back of my skull like the hardest knot on your head. All of this electricity feeling then totally explodes to the point where I feel extremely high and right after the explosion I literally feel the "electricity" dropping like fast little rain drops all down my head, but there is still no feeling in my body at all.

This just happened again to me today, but this time I was more aware that it was happening but then bam my dog woke me up.

So what the hell am I experiencing? Is this sleep paralysis or something else? I really hope its SP id love to have my very first lucid dream soon.

I think it's SP, at least that's what I feel having SP with all that electricity feeling.

That's SP, but probably amplified because you are already dreaming. Try to leave your body next time, or imagine a dream scene.
      What is real?

I was really mad when my dog woke me up because this time I was ready to start thinking about what I wanted to dream about. I was so right there.

It really does feel unreal though, when the "electricity" all collects at the back center of my skull and then when it explodes it feels euphoric almost its pretty crazy and I feel intense fear right befre it all explodes like when you are about to go down a rollercoaster.

Pretty amazing but I've been waking up in the middle of the night and I cant replicate it. Its so much easier if its a nap during the day.

Umm I don't know what kind of feeling it was, but it could have been a stroke. What you describe, numb tingly feeling in the head spreading down etc, may want to get that checked incase it is something you have to keep an eye on.

This is one of the sensations that happens when you are conscious while falling asleep. It is not exactly sleep paralysis. We tend to lump it in with sleep paralysis, but it is more general hypnagogia. It is an amazing feeling. This state of mind is one of the the end goals of many types of meditation instruction. It is sort of funny when you think about it. Practice meditation for years to reach a state you hit naturally every time you fall asleep. I guess most people would get angry at you if you told them the truth; that they were meditating themselves to sleep.

Sleep Paralysis induces some strange HH, don't worry it's all in your head, and if you think about it, it's pretty cool.
It seems you almost had DEILD, clearly you didn't move very much after your previous dream.

      Happy Dreaming
