Go to bed at the same time every night. |

Metaphorically. I introduced him to lucid dreaming about a week ago, and he only writes a little down on his notepad each night, he has only had like 2 dreams so far, he does a few reality checks, he doesn't wake up in the night (not even by alarm) so no WBTB. |

Thanks, but I'm not a noob. I have read all of that stuff and tried it too. That's the thing, he has barely done anything and had one in a week, I have done almost everything and it took me 5 months to have a 3 second one. He never used to dream before I told him about this, so I doubt very much he is natural. |

People are different. I have always been able to remember at least something from my dreams each night, yet when I started it took me just over a year to have my first lucid dream. My friend, who never cared about dreams had a lucid within a few weeks after I VERY briefly introduced him to the idea (I didn't even mention any techniques, just that it is gaining consciousness in a dream). |

It's good to hear of someone else who took longer to have a lucid dream. With everyone else on here either being new or having been on here for years, I feel like I really suck at this. |

How long are you trying each technique? |
|
Well I tried MILD seriously for about 3 weeks, then put that on the backburner. Then I tried bits of everything for about a week or 2, then right now I'm doing Puffin's SAT technique and some WBTB which I am fine tuning tonight. |

I have found out that lucid dreaming is just as all other skills, some people are pro at the very start, while others (like me) need practice. for example, a while ago I told one of my friend about lucid dreaming and she was like "uh, I'm doing that like every night!" ....she didnt even know it was an "official" thing... I was kinda jealous a while |

Just metaphorically. But still, I walked into class this morning and he went "Hey, btw I had a lucid dream last night!". I was firstly, surprised, then curious at what it was, then a spark of jealousy hit me. But then he said it lasted a minute or so and I was quite jealous, but then he wasn't going on about it all day or anything, which was good. Plus I know what he did so I have some hope to try and mimic his success. |

Pfft, just continue going at it and you will beat him eventually, it took me 8 years to have 1 induced LD, so if we are technically, you are totally ahead of me in terms of time. |
|
No secret. He has just found a technique that works for him. |

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
What dakotah said, I'm just a very heavy RCer, used to do my RC all day long, I'm barely at 4 or so hours now... its hard to get back on the habit but oh well, its well worth it. |

Yeah, I am following Puffin's SAT guide (I think it's Puffin anyway), and I will follow the advice and do it for a few months, not weeks. It's just you would think that if something doesn't work after a week or two, it won't work at all. |
