Lucid Dreaming Withing A Lucid Dream? Possible?

Last night I had a dream about being with my parents in a large urban center place. I then thought it might be a dream and tried to make myself lucid somehow, by concentrating or something.
Here's the thing though, it was like I was watching myself do this, watching myself decide to try to become lucid. I was still in my body, but it was like I wasn't in control, like most dreams. I technically figured this was a dream, and tried to become lucid, but I didn't, so myself watching it didn't become lucid either.

D: What? I, I don't even. How do you think you're in a dream and be watching yourself? How do you try to become lucid?
