but the main point...(time to get on topic...)
First Topic.

So I heard today in math that if you wouldn't want to dream about something, look up toward your frontal lobe at repeat what it is you don't want to dream about...now would this have any effect on LDing attempts? (looking straight up, eyes closed, I'm assuming.)

Sorry if any of that is incorrect, my math teacher may not know what she's talking about.

Would you be so kind to tell me what your non-lucids and lucids feel like?

Unfortunately, my dreams feel the same way, and I'm not happy about that, and I'm only 18, nearing 19. Though I wouldn't say they're dull, I just don't feel as if I was there actually experiencing the dream. (I seem to have this expectation that they should feel exactly like Waking Life, or something close to it)

Also, does that mean all I'm recalling most of the time are nREM dreams?
Then maybe occasionally I recall a REM?
Would my bedtime effect me as well? (I have a really long hand-written entry)

Feel free to correct me if I''m wrong about that.

The nREM thing I posted was a theory, but now that I think about it, I think it's all about awareness. I think nREM is just the rest period. With my lucid dreams, I always felt I was aware, but during normal dreams, I wouldn't really look around and pay close attention to everything. That may be it, but it's just a theory too.

That link is great advice. It it a good reminder to actually go out and do everything we discuss here on the forum. It is easy to talk about it, but it only works if we all go out, live it, and experience it.

I was actually searching for something entirely irrelevant and that showed up in the search results.
I think it might help some people who are trying ADA, or just awareness in general.

Raetin, I had thought of something kind of similar once.
It goes like this: Since I'm usually sitting around, not foucsed on what's really going around, and waiting to get from one place to another, I figured my dreams might have mimicked my behavior in waking life.

Which I guess would be kind of true. ADA would yield a difference in my dreams, wouldn't it?

Topic Three.

Does a false lucid mean anything? I've tried searching "lucid dreaming about lucid dreaming" but that really didn't pull up anything.

What I mean by false lucid is…dreaming that you've become lucid, when you actually haven't. You know what I mean? I'll post a DJ entry.

I've heard about the idea before of eating and chewing with as much awareness as possible. But the thing is when I eat I am on the phone, reading something, multi tasking. And I don't necessarily want to focus all my attention on the tasting and chewing of food. I sort of like being half engaged while I talked and let me mind observe the ambiance.

Can anyone here suggest to me some sort of higher quality of life by trying to me more "aware" through practical application.

I am sort of thinking that you may have misunderstood what your math teacher was trying to teach you.

Th only difference in non lucid and lucid dreams is whether you are aware you are dreaming in the dream or not. After dream recall is not very dependent on whether you were lucid and aware you were dreaming or not.

Do you think self-awareness would work instead of ada or sat?

I've been trying ada for a little bit now, I find it a bit difficult and I know its supposed to get easier over time, but I think this could ease me into it, or work in the way ada or sat does.

Self Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment. (I copied and pasted this to make things faster)

I think being aware of ourselves will help but I think you need to be aware of our environment as well, because crazy things happen in dreams and it's important to recognize these crazy things.
