Why was I lucid?
hi guys, I'm quite confused on how I actually became lucid in the only two LDs I've had. In both I had noticed something weird like a floating sign or a dog being walked by a ghost but in other dreams I have experienced things a lot weirder than that. So was I slightly more aware than usual or was it just random? What do you think?

It's called experience, the more you lucid the easier it is to tell that you are in a dream.
Great work! Keep it up :P

I usually randomly have LD's, in some dreams I am more aware than in others, even in some of my non-lucids I kind of know stuff that I shouldn't according to the dream, or in lucids omit a important piece of knowledge that makes me wonder whether it really was a lucid when I wake up.
It can just be random I think. Your mind just suddenly snaps on the conscious and BAM, you have a lucid. :P

I would say on those two occasions you were more aware by chance, your sleep was a little lighter and you were more focused. Obviously no one is always every single night the same level of aware, every night in a row, we have ups and downs in our awareness, based on the day we just had. If we could dedicate everyday to being aware then your LD chances would be higher than someone who only had 2 or 3 non busy days to focus on awareness.
Just keep it up, you are obviously doing something right. I would say you should look at what days you had the LD's on and see if they have anything in common, like did you have to get up early the next morning or did you get to lay around all day previously?

I don't think the dream content is what tips us off. It seems to be unrelated. Your perception and awareness are what caused you to question your surroundings, and then notice that things were out of place. When I randomly become lucid, I seem to already know it is a dream, and the irregularities just confirm my suspicions.
