What is my dream guide?
How do I find one?
Why should I?
1. Your dream guide is a recurring dream character that helps you throughout your lucid dreams and teaches you various things during your adventures. Many people believe in them, others don't. If you believe in them, then you have one.
2. He/she/it will either reveal him/her/itself to you at any point (most likely during a struggle) or you can have your mind create yours. One method I've heard of is to call out for your dream guide and turn around, expecting to see it behind you. Others will simply walk through a door (or something similar to changing the scenery) thinking that your dream guide is on the other side.
3. Dream guides are a projection of your subconscious, as are every other dream character, and they have the ability to help you/teach you various things throughout your dreams. It is also nice to have someone consistent to be with you in your dreams, so you aren't as alone/if you run out of ideas.
I heard of other people call them spirits. :o I'm pretty open minded when it comes to lucid dreaming. I'm fairly certain SDing is real after a very convincing experience. Anyways.. I don't wanna control my dream guide.. then it would be less weird... I wanna hunt for my dream guide. When I first learned about them I saw some sort of fly through of my dream world... And I think it leads to my dream guide. Anyways... I wonder what he/she/it looks like. BAI
The most basic definition of a dream guide is anythin in your dream that guides you. It is often a reocuring DC that teaches you and helps you like Burke said. People have lots of different beliefes about them. Some think they are a manifestation of your subconcious self so they can be a very direct way of learning from your subconcious. Some people even believe that they are spirit guides or seperate entities. That can seem a little far fetched but there is no reason to belive that dream guides don't exist because they can be as simple as a dream character that tells you to take a left turn at the next stop sign.
There are lots of ways you might find you dream guide. I'm taking more the point of view that they are a more self aware, reocuring dream character. You could try summoning your dream guide by expecting them to behind a door or what ever method you like. Asking dream characters if they know where your dream guide is can be another very effective method. Just make sure you are confident and not stressed out about it and you will find them. If you have a more stuburn mind however your dream guide might come to you when ever they feel like it. I searched for my DG for a long time and she came to me twice when I least expected it.
There are tons of reasons it would be good to have a dream guide. You can ask them to teach you new dream control techniques or you could go on fun adventures with them. It is sort of cool having a friend you can meet in your own mind so you can make an interesting bond with them. You can also ask them for advice for problems in waking life. Like I said dream guides can be a good way to almost directly comunicat with your subconcious so it gives you tons of interesting posibilities.
If you refer to my post above. (I probably ninjad you.) I wanna have a really epic adventure to find my dream guide. I don't wanna say like expect he/she/it to be behind me.
Ya I'm sure. I was trying to give you the most straight forward idea that wouldn't set up any subconcious bariers for you. My quest for my DG was pretty interesting and a lot more complicated than simply turning around. When I turned around, instead of a person I found a swirling purple vortex like portal. I jumped into it and started searching and my quest still isn't over. She came to me twice but I was only semi lucid and didn't remember to ask her all the things I ment to like her name and how to summon her in the future.
Good luck on your quest :P
