noticing mini wakeups

Hey guys, I am still a new LD, with about 4 LD. I am wondering how I can realize the few seconds everyone wakeups after dreams. Either an answer or a link to a tutorial would be appreciated.

You want to realize the few seconds that you wake up after dreams?

Please repost with WHY you want to do this, we could help you either find different ways to accomplish the same goal or figure out what you are trying to do.

Just set your intention to notice them and use autosuggestion before you sleep (e.g. "I will notice when I wake up"). It's possible that this will work and you will notice them at the time, but then go on to forget this when you wake up in the morning, so you could keep a pen and paper by your bed and set your intention to make a note of it when you wake up each time. If you're able to notice when you're dreaming it should be easy for you to nice when you wake up!

Gotcha. There are many different ways to do this. The main suggestion I would have is to set an intention for something you want to do during those few seconds after you wake up. For instance, people commonly want to stay still. This requires conscious control. So, you will naturally realize the few seconds after you wake up if you are trying to stay still during that time. I agree with unda, keep a pen and paper also. It will help you. Something else you can do with this journal is track how you miss these awakenings. Simply noticing that you are missing them brings the opportunity to light.

Wow, last night i set an alarm... It went off because it is made not not shut off.....but i must have turned it off, and have no recollection of it ;_; what the hell!

It is hard to time an alarm to catch these awakenings. You best bet is to use some sort of autosuggestion, or rely on your prospective memory. With a bit of practice, you should be able to just tell yourself to wake after every dream. Right before you fall asleep, set this intention in your mind, and picture yourself doing it. It is the same way we remember to wake at a certain time the next morning.

I find that music will wake me up to conscious level. So what I do is I tune my radio into the Classical music channel (I'm sure most countries have one or more?) just loud enough to be audible but not so loud that it will keep me awake.

So I fall asleep, music still playing, and will dream, wake up, hear the music, become conscious, write down the dream (if I'm not too lazy, like last night >_<) and go back to sleep. (the music is also a Reality Check for me if I have a False Awakening. I know it should be playing, so if it isn't, I know I'm dreaming)

This will happen about 3-4 times per night, so it doesn't catch ALL mini-awakenings, but most of them.
