How good is everyone at WILDing?

I haven't really focused on lucid dreaming for a while, and now I am just getting back into it. What I would like to do is just get a WILD method down and master it. I would just like to know how all of you WILD and how long it takes you to get into a dream at your level. I myself have never successfully done it (and I could use some advice, I suppose :l), but I think it is the most fun method to lucid dream.

So, how long did it take you all to WILD successfully and which method did you use?
Is it MUCH easier to WBTB before WILDing?
      All of that good stuff.

Also: I don't know if this belongs in the Newbie Zone, it has a lot of questions, but whatever. :l

I'm a little too good at WILDing I go into SP spontaneously, but as it freaks me out, I try to avoid it.

I did it once, though, using FILD (Finger-Induced Lucid Dreaming), and had immediate success. Works best with WBTB, yes. Though for me, it works best if I don't actually get up and do stuff. I sacrificed recalling the previous dream by not writing it down immediately after waking up, but that's totally worth it. I just woke up, dream still fresh in my memory, rolled over and felt myself get heavy and slip into SP, so I did the finger technique and had mild SP and when I opened my eyes a moment later, I was in the dream

      Hope this helps..

I can WILD fairly consistently. It is hard to claim to be good at it, because it seems to be different every time. I can do the exact same thing two nights in a row, and have completely different experiences. Sometimes I just know I am going to succeed. Other times, I can be doing all my tried and true tricks, to no avail. There are so many variables involved, I have given up on aiming for a 100% success rate.

I believe I have WILDed once or twice in the past. I'm not sure what else I would call it, although I didn't seem to experience sleep paralysis. It was more like I was experiencing HI, and I just switched over to a dream without losing consciousness. But I don't recall if it was an intentional WILD or just something that happened.

Personally, I find WILDing very difficult. I've never had any success with it, and I've never even reached SP before. Maybe it will be easier after I've mastered MILD and DILD. To answer your questions:
I've never WILDed successfully before, but the FILD technique looks pretty reliable (give it a try!).
Yes, definitely do WBTB before WILDing. From what I've read, the success rate is much higher.

Hope you have better luck than I did!

WILDing usually works for me but like Robot_Butler said, I don't think I can really claim to be good at it. Sometimes it works fairly easy, sometimes it doesn't. But compared to DILD, I very much prefer WILDing in terms of success for me. Also, SP is actually quite enjoyable for me, no longer do I fear it. ..

      Things I've done while Lucid:

      - Flying - Dream Rewind and Fast Forward
      - Invisibility - Shapeshifting - Grown Wings
      - Summoning [mastered (?)] - Zip lining
      - Fireball

I don't do very good at WILDS, expect WBTB during naps since that seem to work alot and I wake up in SP anyways. Once I get an alarm I will try doing WILDs during my main sleep.
Lucid dreaming takes three things: Patience, practice, and perseverance.

Back about 9months ago I was really good at it. I was successful slightly better than every other day. My record was 5 days in a row of successful WILDs; my goal was a full week. However, then I got a job and it fucked everything up. I haven't been able to get back into my daily routine that I had such success with. My motivation is down, and I only get lucid about every other week half of which are WILDs.

I think it took me about 3 months to have my first WILD, but then another 2-3 months after that to make them actually worthwhile.

I invented my own method for WILDing based on trial and error. I found a modified WBTB worked best for me. I would set an alarm ~6hours after going to sleep. Wake up and use the restroom, surf teh webz, other normal WBTB things. Then set an alarm for an hour later and go back to sleep normally. Then after waking up to the next alarm I would attempt my WILD. I found SP to come on much more quickly with this method.
I used that method as training wheels until I was able to do it fairly consistently. After awhile I switched to a regular WBTB WILD.

For all intents and purposes WBTB is 100% required for WILDing.

It's a tough technique, I suck at WILD, but always remember there are other techniques which are just as good, in my opinion!
