I have so many questions about my first lucid dream!

I had my first lucid dream last night. It's my only DJ entry as of now so if you want to see it then you can read it.

But in a nutshell I managed to become lucid and stay calm enough on my first attempt to not wake up. I think in part because I'd planned the moment I became lucid I'd stay calm and survey the scene and just take it all in.

For one I can't believe how real it felt. Honestly it was incredibly real. All the sensations of reality. My god.

But I'm not without questions.

1. Why didn't I wake up the first time I tried to lucid? (I usually hear that almost everyone wakes up the first time)

2. Why could I control aspects of my environment the first time? (I shouted at the sky to change and it did, I shouted at some trees to move and did an open sesame move and they moved, I tried to fly and I kind of semi managed to do a really long forwards jump in a flying position )

3. Was I really completely lucid? (I felt my thoughts even though while lucid were slightly illogical even though I'd realised I was dreaming)

4. Why does my memory of the dream feel like it didn't really happen, even though I remember the feeling of it and the clarity?

5. What was going on with the creepy joker demon who kept me from becoming more lucid after I'd realised I'd slipped out of lucidity? Was he like a personal demon being shown to me? Or was it just my subconcious saying 'nah you've been lucid long enough for tonight?'

6. Why am I beginning to doubt my lucidity?

I think I've had lucids before but not remembered them properly, like hazy blurry memories with awareness attatched to them.

Looking forwards to the answers to these questions, I'm going to be reading that journal entry over and over to keep the first lucid I've remembered fresh in my mind.

1: Most people who has their first are usually too excited to stay in the dream, what you did was to relax which is exactly what you should do.

2: If you believe you can, you can. Being insecure about using a power and it won't happen.

3: If you know you were dreaming then it was a lucid. No matter how fuzzy or short the dream is or how illogical your thinking is (to an extent).

4: Well, to remember a dream you have to think of it and make sure it sticks in your long term memory. Try thinking up a scenario of you doing certain things, keep it 5-10 minutes long then try to recall every single thing. It's almost just the same as recalling a dream actually. The brain doesn't see the importance of remembering dreams, that's why we have to practice to.

5: Who knows? Perhaps it was your fear of not being able to be lucid anymore that made him appear. If you worry about something happening in a dream, there's a big chance of it happening since you feed that image. One thing leads to another as we dream in schemas.

6: Why would you? You're just starting off, it can only get better from here. Having had your first proper one you'll start having more now that you know that you can.

Hey man cheers for your reply! Your right about the last question completely. I'm definitely gonna start meditating for lucid dreaming so I can do some WILD's, which is my long term goal. I think realising you're dreaming in a dream probably doesn't give you enough comparison to reality to begin with so going straight from being awake to dreaming would probably make me remember my dreams as though they're more life events even though I know they're dreams, rather than the dream memories with patchy blotchy memory.

I realised what I did last night was a Wake back to bed MILD

WBTB MILDs are great to have a lucid dream, takes a fair bit of effort though compared to the other techniques.

Should I learn the wild technique and combine it with a WBTB already or have a few more lucids? I'll probably keep up the WBTB milds for a while first. I'll start void meditating and practicing ada tomorrow. I'm lucky I can have loads of WBTB Milds because my uni timetable requires me to be in uni at 2:15 on the days I'm in ALL except for monday :)! Looks like tonight'll be a non lucid unless I'm real lucky and wake up randomly just before 6 in the morn tonight x
