Read through your dream journal / members journals. Write down some goals you would love to achieve, for instance flying to or through a galaxy. Get yourself motivated! |

So I've been finding that everytime I come here on DV I usually just lurk around, looking at random parts of the forum that have nothing to do with LDing or posting in my waking journal section, and maybe once in awhile posting a dream. This has been going on for about a year now, and it seems that I just have no motivation anymore to try to record my dreams/ attempt to LD. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anyway I can make myself more interested in lucid dreaming again? |

I dream a lot, need not be asleep.

I'm guessing you are on a dry spell, why not try a dry spell breaker guide, here's mine but the general concept is to really try over a couple of days. Having a lucid will probably give you motivation. |

Snoop around in the dream journal section. Reading other peoples' dreams can be very inspiring. |

That's a good idea. I've been reading through my dream journal and while it's interesting it's still not giving me any motivation. Maybe I'll try looking at some others for some ideas/inspiration. |

Try reading some new material about LDing. I'm reading Robert Waggoner's book Lucid Dreaming - Gateway to the Inner Self. Not trying to promote him, but the book is absolutely fascinating and I read it before bed to motivate myself. |

I have a problem. Every time I have a dream and I wake up in the middle of the night I always am afraid to write it down in my journal cause I think I won't fall asleep after I write it due to being active for too long..... anyone feel the same way? |

I know the feeling, I had kept myself motivated for years and felt like I've just over thought every advantage lucid dreaming can bring. I usually just think about how real life is so boring, so much you will never be able to experience that is conceivable in the mind. Sometimes what motivates me is when I meet someone and they ask about lucid dreaming and their amazement usually rubs off on me somehow and gives me some fresh motivation. It's always a good idea getting a good friend together to talk about lucid dreaming, and your excitement bounces back and forth between you magnifying it. |

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause
What I do basically keeps me half-asleep, I grab my phone but face it at my dream journal so it doesnt blind me with light when I unlock it, but gives enough light to see my journal, grab a pen and jot down enough keywords or notes to remember in the morning. Works well. |

What I do is write brief notes, spending no more than five minutes and then go back to sleep. |

I actually had a short LD last night. I think that just writing on these forums about not having any motivation to LD helped me have one! Funny how that works sometimes.. |

When I got to lazy to write in a dream journal I started using a tape recorder. Which also helps with mirageXI problem. You can stay laying in bed with your eyes closed while you use the tape recorder, which really helps you stay comfortable so when you are done you just fall right back to sleep. Though you got to be careful, if you get to lazy you might start mumbling and then you wont be able to understand anything you said in the morning. |

Remember when you try to force your body into a certain position (when doing exercise), the muscles tend to hurt a lot in the first weeks? Same with lucid dreaming. |
