SP Out of Control
I have regular SP every week. it just happens.
Today I took a nap from 2pm - 4pm. I slept until 3:30 and then was in SP for AN HOUR AND A HALF. This is the first time I have experienced such long SP. And the first time I lost control and fought it.
This is copied from my DJ:
But I wasn't awake - it was sleep paralysis. I have SP often, but never this severe. It was hard to breathe, and I could feel the struggle for air. I was frightened of the strange, loud rumbling sound. My HH are usually whispers. I had fallen asleep on my right side, in my boyfriend's house, on his bed. At the foot of his bed are three large construction signs - one specifically reading 'DO NOT ENTER' in traditional black and white pattern. I remember it being reversed, the colors flipped. I could only open one eye, and could read it very vividly on the sign. My vision was shaking, so it was hard to read. I looked over, and I could see who my boyfriend was talking to on Skype - read their names clearly. I thought, "Perhaps this is a false awakening." I couldn't move to check reality, so I felt it was just SP. So I went back to sleep.
...
I was in SP again. I looked at the digital clock on the wall - 3 pm. I was terrified. I'd never had two bouts of SP like this, same time, one right after the other before. I tried to fight it - something that usually works for me. The rumbling and my usual HH were there, though the hands crept up the side of the bed because I couldn't see the door. it was very hard to breathe, and the same words kept rattling in my head as if someone was saying them to me - "If you keep speaking I'll make that creepy smile." I tried to talk - I could open my mouth, and say "Aah!" softly. My boyfriend's name is Austin. I was trying to call out to him, afraid, but I was so quiet and he had headphones on, talking to people on skype. I tried again, but after "aah" I couldn't form the 'st' part. My tongue was thick and breathing was a struggle. I think I almost passed out. I fought my SP as hard as I could - I usually can break from it without too much trouble.
I was in SP today for an hour and a half.
when I snapped out of it I gasped for air, which caused Austin to turn around and come to me. I know it was SP because he says he heard my going "Aah!" softly, but didn't think much of it. I was so scared and weak and lightheaded. My mind is still a little dizzy. I was very thirsty. My body still feels suppressed.
I'm frightened at how vivid it was and how it's still affecting me ten minutes later. I nearly cried.
Does anyone have any similar experiences, or tips for me? I haven't had to fight my HH or my SP before, nor have I been able to make audible sound! Someone help?

that seems very excessive. if you are indeed having sp regularly for long periods of time, you should see a doctor. This is indicative of a sleep disorder such as narcolepsy.
-
Narcolepsy? I was actually worried it might be something to do with sleep apnea because of the intense difficulty breathing. I have woken up more tired than I was to begin with very often. Thanks, I'll go look into that though. I hope it was just a freak thing. :/

well im not a doctor, but narcolepsy just came to mind because it is associated specifically with sp, but you are right, it could be a number of things, which is why if this persists you should go see a doctor...

Everything you are describing is an Out of Body experience from SP. Bad vision, rumbling sound, trouble breathing. The first thing you should do is read some accounts on this subject. Here is a list:
William Bulhman - Secret of the Soul
Amazon.com: The Secret of the Soul: Using Out-of-Body Experiences to Understand Our True Nature (9780062516718): William Buhlman: Books
Robert Monroe - Journeys Out of Body

Dianne Morrissey - Anyone Can See The Light

Albert Taylor - Soul Traveler
Amazon.com: Soul Traveler: A Guide to Out-of-Body Experiences and the Wonders Beyond (9780451197603): Albert Taylor: Books
Understand that nothing is wrong with you. You are not going crazy. This does not have to be a negative or bad experience - your response will determine the sort of experience you have. To break the paralysis all you have to do is think about moving a single part of your body. Taylor recommends thinking about moving your pinky. Monroe says to simply thinking about your body. When you project you enter a space where you communicate mentally, and which responds nearly instantaneously to mental commands. If you have vision problem you need only to mentally think, shout if you like, something like ,"Now I see!" or "Awareness now!" You can use the command structure to break the SP, "Now I move!" or "Back to my Body!"
You have been given a precious and seriously misunderstood gift. Know that there are others, such as myself, who are seeking to do what has come so easily to you. As strange as this will sound to say, I am thankful that it has come so easily to you. You can learn so much from this. It can challenge your belief systems, everything your parents taught you, all your values, and everything you have been taught. But this is not a bad thing.
However if you want it to stop here is what I would do. Note that Monroe says that once the door has been opened it can not bve closed. I do not believe this to be true. Make your decision with care, because it could be that you will want to take advantage of this ability later, and once you have shut that door you may not be able to.
The final book to get will aid you in shutting this door, should you wish to do so. That book is Maxwell Maltz's, "Psycho-Cybernetics":
Amazon.com: Psycho-Cybernetics, A New Way to Get More Living Out of Life (9780671700751): Maxwell Maltz: Books
With it you will learn how to create mental movies. You can write a script where you see yourself mentally shutting an open door in the top of your head. While in SP mentally command or shout, "Now I return and shut the door!" or something like that. Use the "move your pinky" technique to break SP then run your movie. Before long the door will be shut, perhaps sealed permanently.
Use any commands and statements I have made here only as suggestions. You must use your own expressions, styles and words. In other words, use your own words.
I hope this helps. My PM box is always open, and you can request my e-mail address for quicker, direct communication -
