I'm definelty going to buy an induction device
I've found that there is the novadreamer at: lucidity.com and the DreamQ: at thedreamq.com
I'm leaning towards the DreamQ because it cheaper and I'm weary about the novadreamer beaming something all night through my eyelid and into my pupil. (how it works)
Anybody have an opinion?
I don't think induction devices are worth the cost. They aren't necessary for having lucid dreams, and they still require plenty of effort on your part, training yourself to notice a flashing light, or other signal, just as you train to notice a particular dreamsign usually.

Use your imagination. Some guy (this is way back now) had a configuration with a fan near his bed, keeping him cool. When he got into REM, he'd be moving about and the fan would get knocked off. INSTANT LUCID DREAMING CUE

Sounds to me like you work for them.
Could this really work? LaBerge somwhere claims that moving about, sleep walking and talking only occurs when we're NOT in REM sleep. When we dream, the body is almost completely paralyzed, supposedly to keep us from acting out our dreams and doing stupid things.Quote:

I'm also thinking of buying an induction device and I can't decide which. They are pretty expensive...
Well the thing about sleepwalking, is that the ones does it, actually act out their dreams. The thing about these people, is that they won't get paralysed like everyone else, because they don't produce the hormone which paralyses you.
If Laberge is right, it could also be that they act out their HI's. I was trying to get some sleep in a car here the other day, after about 5 minutes, I had reached some deep HI and I started acting it out, like swinging my arm because I had this baseballdream. Of course, I wasn't at all paralysed because of the short time that had elapsed. It could probably be something like this with sleepwalkers too.
That is very interesting. I have had a few scary cases of sleep paralysis in the past (scary back then anyway), so I'm not sure it would work for me. I think I will keep trying without a device some more. I have made very nice progress with dream recall lately using a dream journal. Still just a beginner...Quote:
