I've been trying a technique called the Finger Induced Electronic Lucid Dream (FIELD). Basically you use a program that monitors your movements based on how you hold the mouse and the buttons. I'm only on Day Two of testing it out, but my dreams have been pretty memorable and vivid to a sense (but I think that's because I've been pretty strict on myself to get as much recall as possible).
I also find myself being a little "trigger-happy" in my dreams lately since trying out the technique, like playing a video game on the computer (because of the mouse clicks and holds). And since you woke up having your weight on your finger, maybe using the technique can help keep it in place, so that can keep you calm when you experience vivid dreams.
You could also use it to help with vividness if you consider that clicking the mouse buttons would mean an steady increase in vividness.
But other than that, a way to make your dreams more clear is to rub your hands, focusing on dream senses (like hearing something fall, and seeing it shatter or break into pieces, or touching a wall and feeling the texture to add more depth and realism to the dream)
