Yes, it is actually possible. During Non-Lucid Dreams, one can control his or her actions. But the thing here is that, he or she isn't lucid or doesn't know that he or she is dreaming. Most of the time, in non lucid dreams, a person usually carries on their daily routines like going to school, doing their work, etc not knowing that they are wasting another opportunity.
It is actually easy to achieve such feature of a dream. All you need is a good or decent dream recall and an improved dream vividness. I suggest you get yourself a dream journal, and write down any dream you had. Try to write it down up to the most tiniest detail you can find in the dream. Before sleeping, read your dream journal. Repeat the process, it's suppose to improve not only your dream recall but your dream's vividness as-well. Also, taking in foods rich in vitamin b-12(peanuts, milk, meat) are supposed to improve your dream's vividness. Apple Juice also helps.
Hope this helps and if you do have more questions, just ask
