Making a RC work more

So i was thinkin of reality checks and how they help to become lucid....
alot of people would agree that doing a reality check confirms that you are dreaming rather than use it to gain lucidity which is dissapointing as it wouuld be good to do a RC in every dream even if you were not thinking it was a dream....

my idea requires a bit of work and may not work for a while, at least until it is embedded in your mind. so i thought what is in nearly every dream you have for me it is people (not every dream but most) so i thought what if in reality every time i spoke to some one i done an action followed by a RC, so when i see someone i will shake there hand once i have done this i will do the nose RC....... by doing this i hope to achieve this in a dream that when i see someone i automatically shake there hand, and by doing this would be followed up by a RC.

any thoughts or suggestions? or does anyone already do this?

Reality checks are always a great way of becoming lucid.....if you do them properly.

Many people at first (like myself) thinks that the act of performing an reality check is in itself an action that will determine if you become lucid or not. Well...it's not enough. Its crucial not only to vary in reality checks (so it's not that particular action that is the key) but also question at the same time "Am I dreaming?". This is because though the habit of doing daily reality checks might pass onto your dreams, if you ignore this question you can start doing them like you would scratch your nose: without thinking.

I believe that practice was already presented by other people, but nonetheless it's a great sign that you reached that idea by yourself...shows that you really want it to work :) Personally, I do reality checks whenever I see a cat or my sister, since those are my most frequent dream signs. I also do reality checks when going to my most visited places per day (work, home). But yes, you can extend this mnemonic (thus, associating an element to another element/action) to anything, like see a person> shaking hand > doing a reality check. Just might be a bit tricky to do it with people that you're not used to shake hands. But that depends naturally on your routine.

What you could do was something like: every time you saw a person you know, you could do a reality check. The deal with these mnemonics is that almost all of them work, you just to really force the habit. This might take a few weeks, and that's why many people end up quitting thinking it doesn't work. But if you read carefully, you'll see loads of reports of people saying something in the lines of "it took me 1 month for my first lucid! I was doing a reality check whenever I moved to another place/met my dreamsign in the waking life/ etc etc".
