what do i make of this?
Last night I had a few dreams about that semi remember and in my last dream I remember I was driving my car and the breaks went out but then I noticed I was in my underwear lol. I told myself I was dreaming but then I woke up maybe 20 seconds later. I don't know if this was a lucid dream or just a dream about me trying to be lucid, what do you guys think?
Also I'm starting to have better dream recall. The other night the only dream I remembered was flying and people around me were clapping and cheering. Also not sure if that was a lucid dream because I taught myself how to fly.

If you know you are dreaming, you are lucid to some drgree. If you are as lucid as you are reading this note and are actually there and not just like watching a movie you are fully lucid.

Congrats! you were lucid dreaming. Realizing that you're inside dream is enough to call it a lucid dream. Regarding about the dream where you taught yourself to fly, try to ask yourself: "did i become aware ?" Because sometimes, we have dreams that are undeniably weird yet we think that it's part of our real life and not that of a dream.

Well then woot this would be my second lucid dream haha

So last night I had a dream where I died but was still able to do my everyday normal things. No one was able to see me and I remember being dead gave me the ability to do things people would do in a lucid dream like for instance i wanted to go to hawaii to see how my friend was doing and i closed my eyes and said when i open my eyes i will be in hawaii and it happened. It got to the point where I started to get extremely sad because my loved ones could no longer be with me and I could no longer be with them, I ended up getting so sad it woke me up :\
Now my question is what was this dream? Was it a lucid dream and I just thought of it as a death or could I have actually dreamed about being dead?

There's alot of debate about that. In my opinion, you have to be able to know or tell yourself that you're dreaming for it to be a lucid dream.
But the flying one and the one where you died, are examples of dream control without lucidity. I've had dreams like that, for example: I was able to force myself to turn into a werewolf to fight off an attacker, but I believed it was real. Now, technically I was not lucid, even though I had acquired the power to transform.
In my opinion, lucidity and dream control are two different things, and not necessarily mutually exclusive. You can have one without the other, neither, or both. Just my theory.
Congrats on the one where you were lucid in your car in your underwear though!

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the reply, It was just so weird of a dream I wasn't sure what to make of it. Haha yeah leave it to me being nearly naked to become lucid.
