Meeting real life people in a lucid dream?

Hello. This is my first post . I have been reading tutorials here for a couple of days and have yet to have a lucid dream. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait when it happens.

I was looking at insideout's lucid dream journal

He say's on one of his lucid post's " I ask her where she lives (thinking she might be a person from the waking world who is also dreaming). It sounds like she says L.A. and something about lemonade.
I tell her where I live. She doesn't understand and thinks I said something else. I tell her again but she still doesn't understand. I laugh and say "You need to work on your lucidity." Then I take her phone and leave."

Is this possible to meet another lucid dreamer in your dream? if that's what he's saying

      Thankyou!

Well, some people belive in shared dreams, sharing your dreams with other real people, but I don't belive that. Dreams are just hallucinations your mind creates while you sleep, which can be extremely realistic. But I do not beleive you can share dreams with other people or meet real people in your dreams.

I believe you can... I have before. Only it wasn't lucid.

I don't know if you understood me, maybe you did though. I mean like if you asked the person you "shared" a dream with, they would say they had the dream too and you were there with them.
I don't beleive that is possible.

What you're describing is shared dreaming. It's a bit controversial (as you just saw) and even on DV there are some who believe in it and others who don't. Personally, I do, but this isn't any place to start arguing over whether it's real or not.

What shared dreaming is considered to be is a dream in which you interract with another real person and not just dream characters. There is no guarenteed way to prove this but the most widely excepted is to talk to the person whom you think you shared a dream with and ask them about any dreams they remembered. If their dream is very similar to yours then it was possibly a shared dream. However, this is where skepticism comes in. Just how many details have to be the same to constitute a shared dream? Skeptics would argue that you need 100% similarity (or identical) while those who strongly believe in it would say only a few key points have to match.

I would suggest experimenting with this some more and determine your own conclusion. You have all the power in the world to be skeptical, but don't write it off until you have at least tried.

I understood you perfectly. I HAVE had exactly what you just described... the dream was with a friend of mine, and our dream involved each other... we both described it to a tee... I'd say, did this happen, he'd say yes, get excited, say did this happen, I'd say yes... it was very surreal.

Hmm, thats weird. I don't want to start an argument on here but I still don't belive in it, I only would if it happened to me. I beleive you, but I'd just have to see it for myself.

I believe that shared dreaming is possible. The dreams would not be exactly the same because they are through different people's eyes. Go to advanced search and look up shared as the Keyword and WakingNomad as the exact name and all types as the type. Once the page comes up click shared dreaming FAQ

Everyone has a spirit, not just the dead people, so if it's possible to share dreams with a dead person, I'm sure shared dreaming is possible with the living. I think though that it would be a lot easier if they were sleeping in the same house. Also sorry if I misunderstood you.
