I got to the point where each of my dreams would take up 2 pages, I'd have to write for 20 minutes on each dream and then go back to sleep. Nowadays I'm lower down on the detail, but most of my dreams are around 1page/10mins each, and if I remember more I'll write it as best I can, but it does get tiring having to write so much! I wouldn't really be worried about it - perhaps try writing long details in dot points and then expanding on the important things :)
Yeah don't be so detailed about the whole dream, if I were each day would have to write over 10 pages and ugh... no, just no. Don't think it affects recall.
Na as long as you get the key events down, I only go into detail on stuff I want to remember more vividly.
I just write short sentences which jog my memory so I can recall the detaiks myself (hopefully). I include interesting or novel things in quite a lot of detail though.
Alright, thanks for the help!
I hate to say it, but my recall suffers when I try to simplify or leave out details. The very act of writing down the dream causes it to become more vivid and memorable. I will start with one brief thought, and by the time I am done writing, I will have two or three pages. It is like a chain reaction as I am writing. If I only wrote down that initial thought, and ignored the details, I would never have remembered the entire dream. Just use your best judgement, stay confident, and don't stress about it. You are not doling any permanent harm if you are lazy every now and again.
