First lucid! =D, a few questions however

So i had my first lucid yesterday. Really happy about it. I remember being really excited about realising i was dreaming, yet managed to stay calm and control my dream (slightly). The whole experience has left me with a few questions though.

The first is whilst i knew i was dreaming (performed a reality check) and proceeded to fly and bounce around the room (the whore room felt like a bouncy castle), about 10 seconds later i had returned to my ignorant dream state. Does loosing lucidity happen quite frequently? and if so is there anyway to prevent it from happening?

The second question is whilst at the time i felt in control of the situation, it did feel like my mind was on autopilot, i was doing actions without thinking. The best way to put it is, i felt like a kid in a toy shop, just manically running around playing with everything without thinking. Is this common?

Finally when i woke up, the whole experience felt like a distant memory and i am finding it hard to believe that i was actually lucid (i know i was because i remember being in the dream, RCing, controlling the dream and then writing down in the DJ when i woke up). But a day later it really doesn't feel like i was in the dream controlling it. Is this common with lucid dreams?

These are kind of trivial questions but tutorials don't seem to mention anything on them. Thanks in advance guys :)

Yeah it happens alot, expecially with people new to the skill, personally I use vocal commands and shout out how I will stay concious, but it all comes down to awareness, if you lose touch with the dream for one second you can lose lucidity.

When we are lucid we have a higher level of conciousness, but we are not fully aware, which why we make desions without fully thinking them through. As you have more lucids you will learn to direct what you do and control the dream more.

Dream awareness and dream control are two different things, and dream control is the harder of the two. Both become easier with time and more lucids under your belt. I always found it easier to stay in the dream the more I stabilised when I first went into the dream, so if you have any questions about stabilisation, feel free to ask.

In my second lucid dream, I just did something really bizarre and stupid because I knew it was a dream. After doing that however, I proceeded to attempt to fly (which unfortunately didn't really succeed). But I did try to fly because that's the #1 thing I wanted to do if I had a lucid dream. If you have a goal like that it might assist you in doing something meaningful once you become lucid.

Yeah, this happens a lot to new lucid dreamers. It happened to me the first time I DILD. I randomly realized I was dreaming, walked maybe 10 steps and then got caught back up in the dream logic. It was rather lame.

dream logic > all other forms of logic

Thanks for all the replies =D! I expected most of the questions were quite common for new lucid dreamers, and tutorials don't tend to go into detail about what usually happens in the lucid dream. This insight is very helpful, thank you =]
