Strange Post-almost-LD-experience. Any thoughts?

Hi, I am new to this forum and have not officially had a lucid dream yet; but a few months ago I remember trying and something strange happened. I woke up in the middle of the night and decided I would try to lucid dream (only later did I realize that I was WILDing). I relaxed for a little while and then began to feel weird, and all of a sudden I could feel my vision slipping away into my dreams. I started to see red flashing lights, like a siren, and after a few seconds heard the alarm as well. I must have gotten too excited and woke up, but then something strange happened. When I opened my eyes I could see tons of letters across my vision, kind of like when you look into a light and then turn away and the imprint stays. I could tell they were all typed letters and after about ten seconds they went away. My question: has anyone experienced something like this? When they wake up from a dream and still have remnants of it left? I have never heard of something like this before and would like to hear any thoughts you might have. Thanks :)

Interesting :). This sound's kind of like my experience the other night where i was in a dream and a girl told me i was going to wake up, even though i wasn't lucid. At that moment i woke up and opened my eyes, I was in sleep paralysis and i couldn't move. My room was shaking and wobbling everywhere, but this was the hallucinations from the SP. Maybe the letter's were hallucinations? :).

That could be what it was. I just thought it was so strange because it was like I was looking at a computer screen full of letters before that. It didn't feel like a hallucination, but then again I don't have much experience with this so I guess that's the most likely reason. Thanks for your feedback :)

Very strange, have you experienced anything else like that since? Any partial lds? Its weird to have an experience like that and then not anymore

After I had that experience I sort of got out of it for a little while and haven't experienced any ld's, partial or full. I recently got back into it and am hoping to experience something soon. If I do have another experience like this one I will be sure to post it
