yesterday i tried my first WBTB wanting to do a WILD , i woke up after 4h 40mins i think , stayed awake for 20 mins , saying mantras and thinking about dreams then i went to bed again and started counting from 100 to 1 , as i reached 80 i just thought ok i never tried to go into SP consciously but i think it will take longer than the 100 im counting to reach it so let's start counting after a few minutes , then i fell asleep :/ |
anybody ?! |
I'm not much of a WILDer, but for me it always works like this: |
Pay attention to the counting, not just think about it. |
Please feel free to check out my DEILD guide: http://bit.ly/2DOqiyT
if you want to stay conscious, you have to change up the counting so as not to lose it,m what is mean is, pick a rhythm that you count with like dum...dum...dum...dum, but if you keep that same rhythm up like 1...2...3...4. you will fall asleep through the monotony of it most times, what you need to do is., ever now and then randomly; change up the rythm....dum...dum...dum dum dum...dumm...dum etc becuae that conscious interjection will keep your awareness intact.. |

yesterday when sleeping at night (just normal sleep not a WBTB ) , i just thought .. i am never able to sleep on my back , lets try it !! |
so if it was the beginning of SP why did it suddenly stop ? |
I havn't read any of the replies, so sorry if this is a repeat. |
ok after reading this and the other Jeff77 SP article , i think this was SP but im not so sure |
Your brain actively tries to prevent you from consciously experiencing SP. This is what, I believe, hypnic jerks are. Your "freak out" sent some kind of signal that you were still awake and the SP cancelled itself. A change in your breathing is probably what cancelled it. |
yea maybe .. will try again today and see what happens |
As an Idea you could try imagining the bed turning and eventually kicking you out of bed if you can't move. Also try paying attention to your room and what you room looks like to help you when you start to freak out. redirection is almost always helpful. |

Dream Goals:
[] Create device that will make me instantly lucid.
The trick is to keep your eyes open until you can't anymore. Even now and again try to image seeing something you normal wouldn't. As soon as you start seeing what you thinking about you will know that you are dreaming. Then quickly concentrate on the nearest object and think about slowly moving yourself out of bed. This is an extremely hard method, I(I only tried it once because it was so exhausting) however it also provided a lucid dream experience. |
