You don't have to be a master, I've only had 11 so far, 3 of them were superrr realistic, more real than waking life. It's like, when you close your eyes for a few minutes then reopen them, everything is super bright and crystal clear, just like that, but better! lol
A couple of the other ones weren't as clear, it felt like I was a bit tipsy, I was cognizant but not able to what we call stabilize or ground ourselves to the dream.
As for your question - get more sleep. Our sleep tends to run in 90 minute cycles, so the more cycles the better. Typically you want between 7:30 - 9:00 hours sleep. If that isn't possible, then you could try taking naps.
How much sleep do you get a night? If you're super tired then it's going to be harder to have LDs. You might wake up and not even remember having a dream at all...try to nap more or get more sleep when you can. Most, if not all dreams are pretty realistic to begin with. LDs are extremely realistic, even when you know that none of it is real. -Chase
If you're having a hard time getting to sleep, and that's why you get little sleep, try setting a more consistent sleep schedule. Get your body used to when it should go to bed, and make it the same time every night. Avoid caffeine and things with bright screens before bed. Try meditation.
And lucid dreams can be much more sensual than real life. As an example, notice that the center of your vision is much clearer in detail than your peripheral vision. In a dream, your peripheral vision can be just as detailed as your center of vision!
I've never thought about that before, that's true!Quote:

Make the time prior to sleep special. Get of the computer early and do some relaxation or something to get your mind off the day, have a relaxing shower. Also, agreed with Abra. Besides, even in your dreams now, you don't notice it's a dream because everything is so real already.
I have always thought that my lucid dreams are far more real than my waking life, especially when i am completely lucid. All of my senses are far more vivid and "real" than when i'm awake, even my emotions feel deeper and more meaningful.
i think a constant lack of sleep would probably cause you to have really intense dreams from the REM rebound effect, however you probably never remember them. Try getting into meditation, it will help you get to sleep and also help you focus and remember your dreams. I know it has done a lot for not only my sleep and lucid dreams, but also my waking life.
I've had LDs that were like being drunk, wandering around where everything's blurry/dark and you're practically half-blind. No fun.
I've also had LDs where my entire 180-degree field of vision is crystal clear and more vivid than real life. That was one of my earlier and more memorable lucid dreams, because not only could I see with greater range and clarity than real life, but I was also feeling/hearing/smelling my environment at the same time (it was a beach.) It was pretty much this experience that cemented it for me...it can definitely be more real than real.
Strange... I could have written that myself. That sounds exactly like my very first Lucid Dream which i had spontaneously before i even knew what Lucid Dreaming was. I was on a beach, and knew i was dreaming and everything intensified. I could see the beach, smell the air, feel the sand and hear the ocean, and all of it was more real and vivid than anything i have expierienced in waking life.
And i have also had the same experiences of blurry and dark vision, stumbling around as if you're drunk. Usually happens when i take naps and wake up in a dream.
