Sleep Study: Learning Through Our Dreams

Hey everybody,

I'm doing my graduation project on dreaming. Namely the correlations that exist between lifestyle, dreams, and learning. I wanted to gather my own data. Starting my research, I knew that I wouldn't have access to a sleep center or any other fancy tools so I needed get information another way. I wrote a sort of "DIY" sleep study. If you want to partake in the study that would be super awesome, I put the link in below. If you have any Ideas about how I could make the study better please let me know!

I live in NC as well, but the graduation project was cancelled for me.

Very interesting that, I think I might do this.

I would like to participate! It would give me another reason to keep on keeping on with my dreaming! Lately motivation has been rather low :'(

EDIT: Also, I'm a little bit hazy on the quiz yourself part... Do you mean make a series of 10 questions that we write down before we go to sleep, then wake up and answer them?

Or are they things that we are supposed to dream about and see if what we wrote down correlates with what we dreamt?

I tried to word it well but it's still confusing.

1. Get ten things that will be your quiz
2. Test yourself (you'll probably get most of them wrong as it's new information).
3. Study the information
4. Wake up
5. Write down dreams
6. Take quiz again

In theory the people who do the worst on the test at night will have more dreams about the information (The brain likes to try and figure out stuff that it doesn't understand while sleeping) and the people who have dreams about the information will show marked improvement on the test.

Just read the doc, sounds like a lot of fun so might as well try it. Good luck with your project btw!
