      Trouble with Control

The past few nights, I've been having some dreams that were so intense, they affected me the day after. I'm not a novice with LD control, but for some reason, these dreams are so powerful, that I keep forgeting that I'm dreaming. What could I do to maintain this level of lucid dreaming but still have control?

      Hey there (again)!

I'm not sure what to advise you in regard to this situation. I've never had that kind of problem -- whenever I become lucid, I remain lucid until I wake up. I don't always have the greatest control of my dream, but I don't lose lucidity because of events in the dream.

Perhaps someone with this kind of experience will respond with a more helpful answer.

i have this trouble i think

Well i have a similar problem to yours. my dreams have been soooo real lately and i usually realize its a dream because its so real. and everytime i get lucid, i forget about being lucid a few minutes or seconds later. you probably know about how to keep the dream from ending right? well i first use dream spinning(it changes the surroundings around you) where i just spin around in a circle while i am floating, keep thinking its a dream, and then after i am done spinning i hold my hands in front of my face and just walk around looking at my hands and thinking its a dream. for me, looking at my hands stabilizes my dream and keeps me lucid for a while. since i cant lucid dream at the moment for some reason, i cant test anything about how to remain lucid, i would need someone's help and advice here, or someone that is willing to try sharing dreams.

Id say staying calm is one of the things you have to maintain. With a calm mind, i find control easier and more fluid

      i get messed up

i always get too excited, and last night i had a ld that scared me so much that i had to wake myself up out of the dream! yes calm would be a good thing, but i couldnt control that dream, maybe its because i was too scared?

yep iv had the same problem, (first post)

this only happens in DILDs and it happens pretty often, i say "oh im dreaming" and go do something and then i "wake up" to find that i had just passed out and entered a WILD
usually this throws me because the "wake up" is so real that i just accept it.

theres really nothing you can do about this other than focus on something in the dream realizing that your mind made it and then usually you gain complete lucidity
~I wake up a little more every time I dream.

Yup Nightowl makes an excellent point. Try to keep your emotions at bay. Too much excitment or emotions can trigger the Lucid effect to disipate. Try to remain calm and intouch with your focuse.
