Is it possible to recall dreams very well when sleeping normally?

Last night I went to sleep at 0:00 AM. I woke up at 06:45 to get ready for school. This means I slept for almost 6 hours, which is good considering sleep cycles I guess. If I would already have much experience with lucid dreams and dream recalling, would I had been able to recall maybe 3 dreams for the night, even though I didn utilize any method such as WBTB, jsut regular sleeping?

      Thanks

      Hi, Shloom -

I believe you can recall dreams even if you sleep 6-8 hours in a night. I can't speak to the lucid aspect, however. Personally, I have slept 6-8 hrs in a night but was able to recall my dreams in the morning. It was a matter of training my brain to wake after a dream, write 'key words' in my journal, and in the morning fill in the details. It took time and I also wrote in my journal a mantra, if you will, that was a suggestion to my brain that I would be able to recall my dreams. You can take a look at my Dream Journal as I have several posts there. I am sure someone with more experience can answer this better but that is my two cents.

*My husband, by the way, doesn't sleep well at all and wakes often as do both my children. So, one might think they would have good dream recall, but none of them do. I think it has to do with setting your mind and intending to remember. Although some folks just have better recall, and I don't know why. I have always been able to recall many dreams - not all - but it seems easier for me than anyone in my family. I have not always 'intended' to recall dreams but just did.
