Question Dreaming that I'm dreaming? (or: taking dreaming for granted?)

A few times now, I've had dreams in which I know I'm dreaming, but I know it an "of course I'm dreaming" way. I haven't had that "Oh, WOW, I'm dreaming!" moment.

A dream from a couple of days ago might be instructive. For as much of the dream as I can remember, I knew I was dreaming. It wasn't anything special - if a DC had come up to me to say "Hey, you're dreaming!!!" I would have had the same reaction as if someone came up to me and said "Hey, the sky is blue!!!"

When I saw a mirror, I looked at it carefully because I remembered that mirrors sometimes work oddly in dreams and I wanted to see what would happen (as it happened, the mirror worked fine). Later on, when the mirror disappeared, I decided I wanted it back, so I turned away, believed that the mirror would be there when I turned around again, and turned around. Unfortunately, the mirror still wasn't there

Am I having lucid dreams with very poor awareness / control? Or are these non-lucid dreams that happen to be about lucid dreaming? Is there anything I should be focusing on, or do I just keep working on my dream journaling and hoping that better lucidity comes soon?

I would say these are low level lucid dreams but I'm no expert, a lucid dream is being aware that you're dreaming in the dream. If you had the thought to try to change the dream and attempted I'd say that was a lucid dream.
Once you go Lucid you'll never go back.

I've had this same experience when I know I'm dreaming, I ask for something and it doesn't appear. I guess that is what happens when one starts out lucid dreaming. Like a big F*** you from your subconscious.

I'm not so much questioning my lack of ability to change the dream, but rather my complete indifference to the fact that I'm dreaming. Most of the descriptions of dreaming that I've seen talk about the moment of recognition - the feeling of euphoria, the sharpening of senses, etc - and I haven't experienced that at all. In fact, I haven't experienced a moment of recognition at all - if I know I'm dreaming, it's something I've "always" known.
