Thread: why dream the opposit that im thinking?

new to the forum so i hope im in the correct area?
please feel free to tell me otherwise!

I have a question

I broke up with a very important love to me because he wouldnt committ to a relationship after many many years being together.
we both are similar in needing our independance and i guess he was moer concerned i wasnt right for him.. im older with grown up children and he actually had avoided beeing in a relationship with anyone... we are both over 35.

Its been a while since we split yet we both look at one another longingly while passing in our cars as we live in the same area.

Ive been trying to tell my self he will settle down soon and i will have the lost the "dream" of sorting out our situation.

THE DREAMS

seen a pregnant woman comming out of his house and i was UPSET that it was his kid she was having.
I lived across the road from him, she went into the house next to me, then more pregnant women came out, then his sister and i FELT RELIEVED that she was having a baby shower at his house. I walked up to her as she was putting the gifts in the boot of her car "I guess its true hes moved on and doesnt want me" she said " He loves you"
the end
I felt that i was getting a message but not sure as its something i would love to hear but i dont think its true.

next night i dreamed
I refused to leave his house and layed across his white bed while he was out... he came home with his brother and smiled and the mood felt good and comfortable and he layed next to me semi sidways but didnt talk to me.
I woke up feeling as he distance himself a bit?

so my question is,
why do we dream of things we in real life think the opposit of?
