Nightmare or SP hallucination?

Hi DVers,
I'm glad I found this very interesting site. I'm very into LDing and want to try it. I remember I had 3-4 unintentional LDs in my life and it felt nice. It was always my dream to do whatever I want in my dreams. I didn't know it was possible. Time to take control now!:banana:

I've read many threads and experiences in this site and others as well as I watched many youtube videos on the subject.
I came across the hallucinations people are having during SP. Some see dark figures, "shadow people/persons" and one really disturbing "hat man":eek: that looks like the figure of a dark Van Helsing as in the movie (2004):D.

I think I had a similar experience once...
"When I was about 10, I was sleeping in my bedroom with a dreamless sleep. As of a sudden I open my eyes and the same time I feel someone invisible removing my blanket, grabbing me from my chest, lifting me up and spinning me around the room. In fear, the only thing I thought that moment was that it was something evil and my only defence was God helping me. So after the first spin I reached my hand and grabbed an image of the Holy Mary and baby Jesus I had on my desk and the moment I touched it I opened my eyes, still on my bed as I was when the "dream" started. I rushed to my parents bedroom telling them that the devil grabbed me but they reassured me that it was a dream and went on sleeping with me scared shitless... Typical parents...:roll:"

The whole dream lasted about 4-5 seconds and felt so real and vivid I never felt my entire life. I've seen many nightmares in my life but after even the scary ones I knew they were dreams. That thing felt REAL. The only thing telling me that it was a dream was that I woke again in my bed. It never occurred to me again (nor I want to) and it was THE most frightening moments of my life. Believe me, I'm a LEO with 10 years on the force, I lived through two gunfights but I didn't felt THAT scared for my life.

So here comes the questions... Was it just a nightmare? Was it hallucinations related to SP? Do you believe it was something demonic? I didn't feel like I couldn't move.
And last but not least, does this often happen to you guys when you are WILDing or DILDing?

It seems to me like you had a false awakening. Hallucinations during SP aren't usually as intense as that, and you're usually frozen and unable to move.

I don't think it was something demonic at all. Your imagination is vast, especially at ten years old. I really wouldn't worry about it. If this happens again, RC and then take control when you know you are dreaming :)

It was just a nightmare. If you would've been in SP, then you wouldnt've been able to move or the dark figure to move your blanket. SP hallucinations can be really realistic, but you are paralyzed all along, so they can't make you move in any way.

It was just a nightmare, nothing to fear.

Check out a video in youtube called "Sleep Paralysis Explained" by user "GizEdwards". Whe're talking about sheer terror. Brave guy tho, he keeps LDing.

If something like this stops you... well that's your problem..

The most recent time I was in sleep paralysis I saw a dark figure standing on my bed and it scared the hell outta me but looking back, its more cool then scary now. Its just a dream :p

I don't believe hallucinations are really demonic. Although it begs the question; why do people in SP often see bad stuff even when they aren't expecting anything bad at all? It's a bit of a mystery, but as far as I know nobody has been mutilated by an imaginary old lady so that's good. Sounds to me like you just had a scary dream. The fact that you thought you were still awake would definitely make it more scary. Plus I don't think God would let a real demon into an innocent 10 year old's dream.
