I am new to LDing, and want to know if this was a lucid dream.

So the other night I had attempted WILDing, and I entered hypnagogia. And a few seconds later I found myself with my eyes open, back in my room, laying down on my bed. BUT! My vision was hazy. I could almost feel my eyes closed behind the vision of my room. I thought to myself, Am I LDing?, but I forgot to do a reality check. After this, I decided to try something. I opened up an inventory menu, exactly like the one in Minecraft. Soon after this, my vision went black, and I was back in my room, IRL. Was this a small, successful step in LDing? Or was my mind just wandering and I somehow started thinking of this? Also, what are the next steps to take after this? Thanks.

It sounds lucidish. If you were actually asleep and knew it was happening while you were asleep, then it was a LD. If you are not sure if you were asleep, then it is close and worth a thumbs up, but normally "you must know you are asleep" for it to count.
