What happened?
I saw a thread today with new DILD techniques and I used them throughout the day, I already had been practicing DILD but I heard about a new feature of after doing a reality check "say that you are not dreaming that time but next time I dream I will do a reality check and become aware I am dreaming" I did this throughout just one day as I heard of it, that night I had a dream that was extremely confusing.
Basically, I can remember being somewhere I think in a room sitting on a bed and I done a reality check out of nowhere, I didn't ask myself if I was dreaming, then I became aware, but it felt like fake awareness like my conscious wasn't aware? Well then I knew that I could control the dream so I walked around this house I was in and then I suddenly went to a room and thought lets spawn somebody that I know then I did that and this girl walked through the door then she just went away. So then I decided to go outside and meet up with my friend, I ended up in a car and driving with a friend and he was complaining about something, I think I was losing control of the dream, then some weird shit happened, there was a mass crash of aload of cars and I got out and some fat kid on a bike tried taking a picture of me because he thought I did it and he was going to get me in trouble, so he managed to get a picture of me while I tried to block my face, but all that showed was my top, so I took it of and threw it at some guys window lol, he came out and he looked like a freekin assasin, I ran away and I had gun shots *I think he thought it was the fatkid so he shot him* so I ended up getting into some gardens and I hopped over a few fences and heard a very loud screech, he was behind me, then the dream was ending..
tl;dr; I did a reality check and was aware in the dream but I wasnt aware irl, I had slight control in the dream then it went but its like my conciousness wasn't awake.
Can somebody please explain what happened? Was I lucid or not?

That was a semi-lucid, congratulations! It's entirely up to you to decide if you add the semi-lucids to your lucid count or not. Was it your first? I've had a few of those, you're kind of aware that you're dreaming, but you don't really feel like yourself.
You'll get the real deal soon, it feels amazingly real! :P
Also, welcome to Dream Views!
