A dream guide is merely what it looks like, it is someone/thing/paperdoll who guides you through your dreams...but you have to be careful, in some circumstances.
Im not an expert at all in this situation, ask LUCIUS, he knows quite alot :P
Umm I think this is stated in a recent poste..I cant remember anymore..I think its the one called I met my dream guide again..its in GD, and not too old I think
EDIT: or not..im sure I posted it somewhere around here..it does say something in that post though, if you can find anything ill just post it again..X_X

huh? I haven't messed with your text. nor will I again, unless I feel it is truely necessary.
a dream guide (i believe) is a character in your dreams who knows all about dreaming, and knows all about you... like you can ask them any question and they can tell you. it is pretty much your subconscience in dream character form. you can ask it what you need to do to have more lucid dreams, or what you should do to make them longer, stuff like that.
