Any food could potentially decrease your chances of lucid dreaming, particularly if consumed too close to sleep. |

So I've read about foods that can increase chances of becoming lucid if you eat them before sleeping and I've been wondering if there are any kind of food that could decrease chances of becoming lucid or that might affect dream recall/vividness in a negative way? |

As melanieb said it depends on yourself. I usually don't feel any impact from food at all but sometimes if I eat something big before sleeping my recall goes somewhere it doesn't to. You can make some experiments to see how you handle food while sleeping, otherwise go with the advice from above, to keep food a few hours appart from sleep. |

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

Some people say that indigestion can lead to strange dreams. But I'm not advising that you should eat foods that will give you indigestion. |

Before i slept last night, i ate a small snack 4 hours before sleep, i had a great lucid dream, and made sure my bladder was empty before sleeping as well. I can't have good dreams knowing my bladder is hitting me on my head every time in my dream saying wake up you got to go! lol. |

I was often told alcohol would prevent vivid dreams but I have found that to be the opposite effect on me. I typically remember more vivid dreams after a couple of alcoholic beverages. I chalk to being in a deeper sleep the first half of the night resulting in REM rebound for the later half. |

FOOD DYES. Heavily detrimental to dream recall. |

I'd say avoid junk food before bed. And try to get in a few servings of veggies during the day; I've found that doing this increases my clarity of consciousness. |

Eating before bed never hurt me. |
