Some questions (Part 2)

Hey I have some questions again :cheeky:

1) What is the most effective way to do reality checks?
Currently I'm doing a reality check every hour (I really question reality) and if I see one of my dream signs during the day I do a reality check aswell. Most of my dream signs are friends, places in my town,.. I'm also practising ADA, is that good enough?

2) When I'm in a lucid dream, And I'm like: "Ooh I hope I don't see any aliens or demons" is there any chances I'm going to see one of them? Or do they only appear when you really want them to do? xD

3) So a friend is staying over tonight, and we will probably go to bed at around 5am, then I'm going to sleep for about 6 hours. Is there still any chance I might have a lucid dream when I take a nap tomorrow evening or when I do WBTB on saturday - sunday night? Because I heard if you're really too tired, you won't be able to have a lucid dream.. But if I do the things I just mentioned, is it still possible?

4) How do you prevent getting sleep paralysis after a lucid dream? Like let's just say if I become lucid and I get too excited or if my lucid dream is a nightmare and I try to wake up, do I end up in sleep paralysis or do I just wake up? ^^

1) try to detect dream like elements around you when you RC. Not just if your RC works but does everything look and feel correct.
2) If you have good control you can intentionally summon those things. If you do not, then it is hit or miss depending on the type of dreams you normally have.
3)the nap thing only works well early in your wake cycle, say the first six hours.
4) few people have SP that they can not break as soon as they are awake. It is nothing 99% of us need worry about.

Okay thanks for the reply! Do I still have a chance to have a lucid dream during my WBTB tomorrow night, but I'll be quite tired tho because I'm going to sleep at around 5am?

theres always a chance;)

1) Pinch your nose and try breathing. if you can, youre dreaming. But, to be honest I never ever did a reality check in a dream i just know that im dreaming cause a dream is on the one hand feeling pretty real but on the other hand its just not wanking life.

2) I dont know, but its YOUR dream they cant harm you in any way (ok, mentally , maybe if the experience is too scary) , get some giant machete and fu**in cut them demons limbs off.
To be honest, wouldnt seeing aliens in your dream be really cool?

3) Well i make being tired my advantage... i dont know what it is but being extremely exhausted makes me (of course) fall asleep in no time (like really lying 15 seconds in bed , and then totally drifting away) . It also always makes me lucid /Vivid dream.

4) sleep paralysis is nothing bad you have it every night. Its like a firewall for you that you dont do things in waking life that you do in the dream like beating the hell out of someone (for example?), so you dont beat your wife sleeping next to you :D

1) I like my reality checks to be an opportunity to pause and reflect on myself and my surroundings. I think the most important thing is to really become aware. Try to focus on yourself, your body, your position in space, and how you are influencing the world around you. If you are working on ADA, you are doing it correctly.

2) Dreams are really unpredictable. Even the most lucid of dreams are still somewhat random. Our minds connect concepts in seemingly illogical ways. You never really know what to expect. I think your attitude and general state of mind are more important than the specific dream content. Try to stay positive, and the dream will reciprocate.

3) REM rebound is your friend ;) Dreams get very cool when you miss a night of sleep. Try to WILD during a nap, try a WBTB tomorrow night. I have a lot of success with mid-morning naps, and early evening naps, somewhere around 10am, or 7pm.

4) If you have never had problems with sleep paralysis before, don't worry about it now. Some people are more prone to it than others. I get it often, whether I intentionally lucid dream, or not. Many prolific lucid dreamers never experience it, and never will. The best you can do is be prepared, and don't be afraid of it. If it happens, you know what it is, and you know how to turn it to your advantage. Enjoy it as another type of dream.
