      Unhappy Failing at relaxing.

I am looking forward doing WILD and I think I can't relax enough. Post relaxing methods, tips or something that works for you.

During relaxation, I have a screech that jolts me half awake . May only be me, but I just naturally have this screech when I do WILD.

Relaxation is the hardest stage, but it's actually not as bad as you would think. Just keep trying and maybe search some stuff up . Good luck!

Not being able to relax is probably caused by you thinking too much, there are many methods to calm your mind down such as all the different meditation methods described here on the forums.

The method that works for me is just forcefully try to stop thinking by paying attention to as many of my senses as possible.
      1. Force myself to stop thinking in dialogues, done by just stopping myself in the middle of a thought or sentence usually. (this usually takes a few seconds, before I actually stopped thinking)
      2. Next I try to focus on my senses, like the noise I can hear, the back of my eyelids I can see, the cover of my bed I can feel, the taste in my mouth and the smell surrounding me. I try to somehow all pay attention to all my senses at the same time, by just trying to notice them all at once. (I usually start with 1 and then add 1 and so on)
      3. As soon as I start to think and I notice repeat step 1 and 2.

ps: Small thoughts as "Wow this feels weird" as I approach SP and things like that don't really matter in my case, its about the longer ongoing thoughts that I force to stop in order to relax.
pss: For me 'not thinking' for an extended period of time usually gets me into SP or an SP like state.
