Different levels of lucid dreaming and their "restrictions"

First of all hello everybody! This is my first post/thread here or on any other message board concerning this subject.


I have been having lucid dreams for as long as i can remember, some of them i remember and some of them not so much.

I would like to think that im pretty "experienced" LD'er.

Now recently in one of my more higher states of lucidy i came across some "limitations"

As the kick of awareness came i was in a temple of sort, i thought to myself great! Here we go again, now there were these old crt monitors hanging there, i remember thinking to myself well if im going to spend some time here might as well have some decent screens there, i zapped my fingers at them and they turned into some nice lcd tvs.

But then i thought to myself, hmm everything is a bit dark and my vision was a bit blurred as well, i concentrated and everything became insanely sharp and clear. Like i sat down on the floor, looking at the detail. I rubbed my hand on the floor and it was cold i could feel it.

Now this happened to me before, but the problem with this "high" level of detail is a lack of manipulation, i tried to fly. But just like in real life when you jump you just land on the floor.

The thing i want to ask is, how do you maintain a high level of lucidty and still be able to fly etc. I have had lucid dreams where i could fly, but you always have to sacrifice a little bit of your lucid state for your mind to accept that you're flying.

Hope this makes a bit sense, i am pretty tired, just wrote this before im going to sleep in the hopes that i'll trigger myself, wish me luck :)

I think this is generally a natural issue. I find the best way to combat it is to focus on things other than that you're flying. Feel the wind rush against you, watch the world pass by and stay focused on your senses, how the cool air feels, how it smells, how everything looks from your in-air vantage point. Also be aware of where all your limbs are in space, it's surprising how easy it is to lose track of that.

I don't think you could ever have the same mind-blowing realism in a dream while flying that you can while on flat ground, but doing these things can help.
