Getting lucid without thinking about it all the time

So I noticed something about my few lucids. They only occur at times when I have been CONSTANTLY thinking about / reading about lucid dreaming, and doing a bunch of RC's, and writing detailed dreams in my journal, etc. ALL DAY. It literally has to be an obsession for me to get a LD. How do you guys get LDs without literally spending all day doing these things? Because that seems to be the only way for me to get lucid.

For example, could I dedicate like 1 hour a day to lucid dreaming activities and see results? I just want to be efficient here. Thanks!

Absolutely! Certain techniques actually hardly take up any of your daytime. What I'd need before giving you detailed reply, however, is what method you're using. Or are you even using a method? (Like, are you just thinking about it a lot and hoping for one~?)

I'm in the same boat as you Cielo. So I'm trying meditation to see if meditating for a few minutes (10 to 15) a day could help. Of course learning to meditate is taking me a little longer than it should because of my lack of effort that I am devoting to it. But I plan on changing that.

Yes, it is possible because when I had my first lucid dream then I didn’t even know the meaning of lucid dreaming.

Some years ago, I used to spend a lot of my time into the subject and my frequency of Lucid Dreams grew considerably, then after, I had not much time to spend on the matter-I could say not a single minute during a hole day but from time to time I still got some DILD's and DEILD's as well.

Well I started getting lucid dreams when I was training my awareness and doing reality checks and listening binaural beats when I do WBTB.

I think constant practice and awareness is needed to continue to lucid dream.

I think its a skill that needs practice to be proficient at. You wouldn't expect an athlete or musician to not practice on a regular basis and then play a great game or performance.

Try integrating the practice into your daily life and then it's not a big deal.

Nonsense. I've been a lucid dreamer for almost 4 years and now it takes almost no thought during the day. This is using WILD of course.

I agree with the above sir ^ ....It doesn't take hardly any of your daytime using any method except for MILD and DILD, and even those don't have to take up too much time. It's true that if you did choose to focus on it all day and really dedicate your time to it that you would probably get better results, but that's extremely time-consuming and can be pretty boring. Like cmind said, WILD takes up pretty much none of your daytime once you've learned it. Lucid Dreaming is definitely something you practice, but you practice it when you have a lucid dream, not as part of your daily life.

Im pretty sure it is different for every individual. Some people are "natural" Lucid dreamers, and some people have to work for it. Not to discredit any of the extremely helpfull tips and guides on this website, but for me it is something i cannot trigger, it just happens.

Though im sure if you occupy your mind with it it triggers more frequently.
