So far in my limited lucid dreaming experiences (about 5 LD's) everyone else has had no powers, just normal people (:
In a NORMAL dream, I actually learned powers from a friend. Some might have them in a Lucid Dream.
I suppose if you used your mind to make them do something, then they would have some. If they were just normal DCs you encountered and never bothered with, they probably won't do anything special depending on the setting.
oh sweet, never actually got to lucid dream. but its always been a goal of mine cept i never really got good lessons from people on how to do it succesfully, all i now is it takes time and patience
yeah it does take a lot of patience, since i first heard about it, it took me about 4 months to have my first LD, but for everyone its different! you could have an LD tonight or you could take 1 year, just hang in there.
Confidence and persistence is the key to lucid dreaming. If you stay at it will full enthusiasum and experiment with different methods, than you might get it faster than you expect. :)
If you expect DCs to be like regular people, they will. If you expect them to have the same dream control powers as you, then they will. Expectations play a big part in dreams.
Just remember that everything and everyone you see is a creation of your own mind. So when you're interacting with them you actually have a direct link to your own subconcious. You can choose from here on out. This is one of the most interesting parts that Lucid dreamers are capable of. It is one of the things in life that science has no full understanding on, so we're all kinda frontiers on this part.
Anyway im straying ... you can choose really, sometimes i like some people to tag along with me, i let them "act" their part, sometimes i tell them to shut up and accept that they're my creation.
There are so many factors which can affect how our dreams turn out. It can be affected by our emotions that time, or what happened during the day, or just anything we're thinking. As what fennecgirl said, expectation plays a huge role in dreams. What you think will happen, will happen.
Usually in my dreams, my DCs are weird and not normal, they have powers and sometimes even use it against me! But that is probably just because that's how I hoped and expected they would be. Personally, it is more exciting to have them do as they please, as they can say and do surprising things.
Have you checked out the Dream Views Academy? They have excellent classes there that could help you. I personally suggest the Intro Class, it really helps beginners get started with lucid dreaming. I did once have a dream where somebody was chasing me, and I went lucid, so started to fly away.
They tried to force me back to not having any powers by shining spotlights on me, making it harder for me to sleep.
I fell out of the sky, so it partly worked, but I just physically grabbed them and thrashed them. MY DREAM! (Think Hulk and Loki in Avengers.)
