Should I use the alarm clock method?

Should I use the alarm clock method where you set your alarm 4.5 hours into your sleep and then wake up and record your dream in your dream journal then set it 90 minutes later and do the same thing over and over until you wake up.

Or should i just record my dreams in the morning or if i wake up at the end of a dream? I wanted to know if the alarm clock method is useful? :?

I would suggest to learn it naturally though, if you go to sleep with the intent to be more aware of your dreams, you will eventually become so aware of them that you both increase the chance of becoming aware enough to realize that you are dreaming, but also so aware that you notice your micro awakenings. Micro awakenings are brief awakenings we all have every night after each dream, and it's probably the best time to recall dreams on, because it's right after you have dreamed it.

I agree, it may work differently for others. Personally I like sticking to natural methods so I don't become reliant on anything. Also, using alarm clocks are too disruptive and kind of "jolts" you into consciousness. But then again, it could work great for you. So you should try it out for a week or so, then try without it for the next week. Observe how it affects your sleep patterns and your dream recall. I would also suggest using autosuggestion like "i will remember my dreams" or anything of the like. It won't hurt to try it before bed, and you don't really lose anything by doing it, it could only increase your chances. Good luck! :)

I agree with the above poster. Unless you want to wake up constantly every morning, just try to learn naturally. But what you can do is do it for 1-2 days to get your brain more "fit" to recall dreams. What helped me a lot was to do the technique when i wake up, i don't move or open my eyes. I just try to recall my last dream. If i can't remember anything, i start thinking of random things that happened to me the past day, so if i think of something pertaining to a dream i had, than i will remember that dream. This works because usually your dreams consist of things that happened in your day. Hope this helps! :)
