No but I had a horrible experience a few weeks ago. Funny how you mention inception as I really do have ''dreams within dreams'' and anyway I'd be having a lucid dream, then I'd wake myself up, to wake up in my bedroom think it's real life then realise it's another dream but it feels like I'm just sitting in my bed. Then I'd wake up again, same thing then realise it's another dream.
Then when I did wake up I honeslty just didn't feel like I actually knew I was awake or not really didn't. Was actually kind of scary for a few hours and I was actually quite stressed over it asking my Mom if this was definitely not a dream LOL
really weird but all true I assure you.
When strange things happen in real life, I have to reality check. Normally it has something to do with bizarre coincidences, or fantastic luck. When something like this happens, I really can't believe I'm not dreaming. Is this what you mean?
i had an experience like this thought i was awake like 3 times with a parilized body laying in bed couldnt scream or nothing sure wish i would have know to do a RC... probably one of the scariest dreams i can remember
Checking to see if I'm NOT dreaming could lead me to a false conclusion within a dream. Basically, I RC to see if it's a dream anyway.
I think that not necessarily one must be good at lucid dreaming to constantly RC to realize if it's a dream or not during his/her waking life due to strange situations. i.e. If you have moved to a new city, a lot of times you will be wondering if you are dreaming just by walking down its ordinary streets, and that not necessarily will be reflected in the amount of LDs you got.
By the way, in that movie you said, I don't think they actually knew too much about RCs.
Like robotbutler usually you know when awake but if something weird happens in real life I might get concerned I am dreaming and rc.
He does that because he LD's a ton every day, not just at night
Well, I'm going through a phase where I don't reality check to become lucid 9 out of 10 times, I'm starting to get what a dream feels like..
I think to myself, this feels like a dream and I become lucid. I am no where near as good as inception or anything like that.. But I am getting much better! It comes and goes but I rarely have under 2 lucid dreams a week now at times having 3 a night.
A good lucid dreamer would know the different between reality and a dream ;)
Sometimes when im about to blast a fireball at someone or something or have sex i rc again. Imagine the consequences of boning a random person or destroying someones home.
Not all the time. Once I was driving on the highway and the car next to me lost control, spinning in circles and finally crashing into the guard rail at high speed. It was so surreal to watch that I really wasn't sure if I was dreaming or awake. I instantly looked at my hands as a reality check to verify I was awake. For a few moments I really wasn't sure.
If you have ever had a traumatic experience you may find yourself thinking 'this CAN'T be happening, I MUST be having a nightmare'. Only then to realize it is happening and it's not a dream. It's a very terrible and mind bending sensation.
I wouldn't say it's because I'm good at lucid dreaming, but I find myself wondering if reality is truly real quite often.
I am dreaming so yes
