hypnogogic imagery or random situation ?

usually when i go to bed ill just close my eyes and start repeating my mantra in my head (i use MILD tech) but every once in a while ill stop and just let my thoughts flow. soo this is when it happens.

i suddenly start seeing random things not scenes. its just like a random image of something. usually something scarey. one night i started wondering what it was and the only thing that i could think was HI. but i dont think it is. its always there when i close my eyes to go to sleep. i try to change it with force (well ill try thinking of happy thoughts like usually rainbows and unicorns XD) but they usually just get worse.

sometimes its random things like a mouse cursor which i follow with my eyes for some reason (though its only seeable in one eye ...) and sometimes its like demonic faces and crap that ive never seen befor and could have lived forever without it. but even if i open my eyes sometimes i can see it very translucent in my vision. and whn i close my eyes its still there.

weird thing is that i havent had a nightmare in forever. the closest to a nightmare ive had lately was 2 nights ago but it didnt really scare me. these images scare me more.

also just to clarify in case you dont uderstand, the images look like theyre being projected onto the backs of my eyelids but i dont feel as if i am looking at it.... it just kind of seems like its there. i dont know.... your all probably confused by my sucky explanations but im confused too :/

anyway thanks for reading this post. any help on what this may be would be great, and also if i could find some way to manipulate them into dream scenes and possibly lucid dreams?

I'm not really sure what they are. But for me, that's how the WILD process sometimes starts. First I see swirling grey fog and then images, as you describe. I also used to see skulls and scary faces. My friend said he also seen scary faces. This is all behind my closed eyelids. If I stick with it, these individual images evolve into complex pictures and scenes and those into a dream, that you can enter as a LD.

I was disappointed to see scary images, but then, after thinking about it, once I saw tiny hearts (at this time I was thinking about how much I love my cats). Happy dreams:alien:
