Dream Journal Help and Stressed All the Time!

I am 16 and home schooled. You'd think that would make it easier to lucid dream but no it doesn't. My dad wakes me up in the morning and I instantly have to go down to breakfast no time to write in a dream journal. By the time I can I don't remember anything about my dream. I try to do ADA but can't. I'm attempting MILD but that is going to take a long time. Oh, and I feel stressed all the time whether it be a little uneasy or full on stressed. I've read this is terrible for people trying to have lucid dreams which than gets me more stressed. I need to have a long talk with my subconsciousness about this. What do I do, I'm desperate! D':

Having no confidence is the worst you could probably do. I would say stop thinking that you won't be able to lucid dream, and try different techniques. Trying doing DILD's by doing reality checks whenever something specific happens, like waking up in the night. You could even use a notepad, and scribble some main ideas whenever you wake up from a dream, or right as you get up. It should help you remember more when you do have time to write in a dream journal.

Does your dad wake you up at a consistent time? If so, go to bed a little bit earlier and set an alarm for 15-20 minutes before he comes in to wake you up. Then just right down your dreams and if you feel weird about your dad coming in and not finding you asleep just pretend or actually go back to sleep.

As for ADA what exactly can't you do about it? Can you not find the time or can you not become aware like it requires? If you can't find the time then try doing it whenever you get a break from something, or possibly in the shower. It's fine if you can only find 5 minutes or so to do it, just do it a few times a day like while your in the car or any travel time you may have. If you can't actually preform the task itself then just focus on a couple of your senses. The point is to become in-tune with all 5 of your senses and become hyper-aware, but you could just focus on sight, sound, and smell. As long as you make a conscious effort to becoming more aware you are making progress.

If you are preforming ADA, doing RCs during the day, keeping a DJ, and then adding MILD to it, you are sure to get a LD soon. It will take some time, it's not instant, but MILD is a great way to give you an extra boost. Just remember to keep positive, any negative thoughts can really hinder your progress and that only makes you more negative. Just remember that everyone can LD and you will, soon. Perhaps even read through some DJs or the Dream Gallery, a place where people post really awesome and memorable dreams. This should help give you a boost of motivation to get you over this hurdle.

If you're feeling stressed try meditation. It's a great relaxation tool and many people find it helps with lucid dreaming as well. Just sit (or lay) in your bed 20-30 minutes before you go to sleep and just empty your mind, or let your thoughts wander, it can be either. Just be sure you are calm and relaxed and not focusing on any one thing, nor worrying about something. Just sit/lay there and let all your worries go away. Then you'll be ready for bed as well .

If you are to shy to tell about your dream journal, you could do it this way; You must have a couple minutes alone to put your clothes on, just put some keywords about your dream down. Even if you forget your dream, you can always remember it back when you read your keywords, this only takes 15-30 seconds.

For stress you could meditate, but just try to stay "cool". I don't really undestand why so many people get stressed over the smallest things. Not only will it interfere with lucid dreaming, but in your health in general. Don't get me wrong, i get stressed once in a while aswell, it's completely normal. But if your stressed all the time, it will mess with your life.

And just experiment with some lucid dreaming techniques. This forum can only help you this mutch. The best way to get more lucid dreams is experience.

Hope this helps you a little bit out!

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.
