      Mix Bag of Curiosities

Hola, I've known about lucid dreaming for about a year now and had a few short lucid dreams, but then lost inspiration after awhile. Yesterday, I had a somewhat lucid dream that lasted easily up to 50-60 minutes and i've gained a whole ton more motivation to continue.

So I have a bunch of curiosities I've had that aren't really answered in most posts and guides (from what I've seen at least, or maybe i'm just stupid xP)

      • Do dream characters remember occurrences from past dreams?

So basically, could i have some insane adventure with a dream character, and then have another dream in which that character remembers we've been on the adventure? Kinda like reentering a similar dream and setting. I just assume that your mind remembers going on the journey with the character so therefore the character remembers? Can you make them remember? Do you want me to stop asking questions?

      • Is there a difference between wondering and hoping?

I know one of the fundamental things about lucid dreaming is that you have to know 100% in your mind about pretty much anything. Your not supposed to "hope" for something because then you doubt. But what if you "wonder" about something? Like you know there is a car around the corner with your mind and then you go "I wonder what color it will be" or w/e. Is wondering same as doubt?

      • How to not be half-lucid?

This frustrates me a lot when i'll see 6 fingers on my hand and go "Oh hey, I'm lucid dreaming!" but in a subconscious way. Like I'm not lucid, but my subconscious self in the dream thinks its lucid if that makes any sense. Dreaming about becoming lucid.

      • How does 2d to 3d work?

So if i wanted to summon an anime character for example, what do they look like? I know its hard to vision a 2d character in reality.

      • Songs are super distorted when I try to remember them in a dream.

One dream i was listening to a song on my iPod (dat Mokou's Theme - Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke - YouTube) and if I listen to it now, its engraved into my head since I've heard it at least a couple hundred times from the game its in. In the dream, I could tell it was the same song, but all of the beats were at different speeds and some were super distorted and slow. Its kinda hard to mess up that songs beat. Is that normal or me not remembering it right?

      • Does food taste the same as in WL?

TLR version: I was too lazy to try these out in my dream.

      Thanks for reading.

      Short answer: yes
Medium answer: Yes if you expect or make them.
Long answer: If you dream the Dream: episode 2 (or chapter if you prefer) then yes. If you dream a completely different thing than MOST LIKELY not. However your subconscious my just say "LOL no she remembers the horrible things you did to her that one dream in the bedroom and your dreams with her in them are permanently ruined :p"

      Short answer: wut
      Medium answer: What?
Long answer: That is like asking "how long it the string compared to the circle round?"
I think I understand you though, so against my better judgement I will try to answer. Yes...that wasn't so hard

      Solution: read up on "schema"s

That is a false lucid... it is another type of non-lucid dream. You basically dream of LDing

      Solution: practice and stuff

I'm not touching that with a ten foot post...

Like words and math... works for some, not for others, some have both...

Short answers: Yes. No. Better. Worse. "Different".
You can dream the taste of a colour that doesn't exist or the taste of the shape of the moon... Intredasting

TLR version: I was too lazy to answer these fully, comprehensively and coherently

Remember? If you expect them to remember they will remember, even though the dream can be very random at times.

There is no written perfect principle of how dreams work, the best way to answer these questions is to gather your own experience. However if we follow LaBerges words that a dream works like the matrix "What you believe will happen will happen."
Well then you have to fully expect and believe it for it to work.

I know what you mean I call it semi-lucid or simulated lucidity, it basically means that you become lucid but then you dream that you are aware that it is a dream without being aware. It's the curse of lucid dreamers But you can also be lucid but not grasping that your physical body is in a bed, dream characters aren't real, that you have dream control and the situation itself knowing your priorities etc.

read my DJ description for a better explanation of these awarenesses, but the simple solution is to intend to try to tell yourself this information when you are dreaming.
"Oh am I dreaming? Ok that let's try to remember physical memories, my name is ... I am .. years old.. etc.

Hmm unless your brain knows the answer, you kind of have to try to imagine this yourself.

It's perhaps too big of a challenge to remember for your brain :/

Dream characters are just you. As long as you remember the event all your dream characters can remember it as well.

If you wonder if the car will be red it will probably be red. If you hope it will be red it will probably be red. If you say the car will not be red it can still show up as red. If red is in your mind when you think about the car that's what it will probably be. You don't have to know 100%. The expectation or simply being aware of the possibility can be enough. The more confident you are the more likely you will get what you want.

Sometimes this just happens. Personally I refer to these as false lucids. Meaning not lucid. Just ordinary dreams that are focused on the nature of lucidity. When they happen just accept them for what they were and look forward to better ones.

It works brilliantly. I've summoned anime characters. When I looked at them they appeared to look very flat, just like on screen. But when I started to walk around them I saw that every angle appeared to be perfectly rendered. They took up noticeable space. But still always appeared flat. I touched them, physically moved them around, they felt like full 3-D just like any other DC. But always appeared flat. I don't know how to explain it. It was all a big, beautiful contradiction. Definitely try it for yourself. Results may vary.

I remember one time hearing a Cat Stevens song in my head. Heard it a million times so I know it by heart. But in the dream it was different. The voice was different, some of the lyrics were changed, there was extra instrumentation. It was like an alternate history of the song and in this history it was written by a different person.

It can taste the same or different. No rules.
