NIGHTMARES
im assuming most of u have had nightmares before, i was just wondering if it was possible 4 a nightmare 2 be so terrifying that u pass out? i used 2 get a lot of recurring nightmares that i remember with great intensity and i assume that the reason i remember them so well is that they scared me enought 2 wake me up. Now as far as i can tell i have never talked in my sleep but one morning my dad told me that i had woken him up in the middle of the night screaming my lungs out, like "shit im going 2 die" type of scream. i have no recollection of this im assuming because it didnt wake me up. now if a dream was so scary that it made scream out loud but didnt wake me up could it have been scary enough 2 make me pass out? Could i have woken up and instantly passed out or passed out in my sleep? or was it none of these things?

A nightmare can be so scary that you wake up yeah, and you apperantly had a nightmare because you screamed but you did not wake up and after the REM period your brain 'erased' your dream from your memory, like it usually does.

i don't know about passing out, but when i was a kid i would have those "screaming your head" off nightmares and never remember them.

Since i have been lucid dreaming, i have had no nightmares, i have had semi heart racing dreams(like me as a covert ops dude, hiding from the enemy or something :) ), but no nightmares.
and lucid dreamers have an advantage to 'regular' dreamers, for we can realize that it is a dream, and change the nightmare into the setting of our choice, or wake ourselves up!

Ever sence I signed up here all my nightmares have gone away. I have had some of the same experiences and Lowercase Society like being chased by the swat team but nothing grusome.
