      DILD vs WILD

I am a pretty successful DILD lucid dreamer and over the last year have gotten better at extending them...controlling the excitement and able to have reasonable control. Recently I have been doing MILD technique in the early morning and having what I think are WILDs. The difference being I either dont fall asleep or it is so quick and short I dont forget I am/was awake, so I am immediately Lucid. No SP or HH in my case. But so far I immediately awaken after a second or two. I am really present in the dream, but it is like my early DILD days where the jolt kicks me out. Is there something I can do to avoid this? Is the technique different than DILD dreams, or do I just need more practice and experience? It is like my WILD is not as deep a state initially so seems less stable to me starting out.

Sounds like you're catching yourself achieving a WILD without really realising it and then getting excited about it, and then waking up. Keep on trying and soon you'll get it right. I know that excitement was my biggest problem in the beginning, but I've achieved some DEILD's and a WILD or two since then, it's a matter of focusing and not letting something take your focus away.
