What things do you try in your lucid dreams you do not talk about :)

I have the feeling a lot of people are exploring lucid worlds, trying out different things, but don't feel like sharing their experience.
for the simple reason that people might try to make a inference, and think, hey that guy is some sicko.
I guess a lot of people tried to rape a dream character, or at least just take what they wanted. Or killed a dream character quite brutally.

So what is your opinion on that? Some people are open minded and say they literally tried EVERYTHING in their dreams. Some try to learn something useful and some are just having fun. What do you really try to archieve? I think it is importanted to be honest about your own dreams, as they are just dreams. As dream research is quite new compared to other science it does not make sense to romanticize it.

to make a long story short: I think people are doing sick stuff in their dreams just because they can.

Wouldn't posting our secret activities defeat the purpose of them being...well, secret? :shadewink:

People have never talked about dreams openly, in this day it is considered weird to reflect upon your dreams as meaningful or usefull. I believe that if you are a true dreamer then you should not feel ashamed for what you dream. I however do not believe that people naturally do sick things in there dreams, it just doesn't make sense. Acts like rape are almost always either inspired because of group behaviour or a mental disorder. It is not unusual to see people who have sexual fantasies about things like bondage, which is not about torture as all the particapants co-operate unlike in rape. It is natural for humans to feel sympathy for one another and only a people with a strong pyschopathic tendency would willing commit a cruel act.
I often kill people in my dreams but never do I feel any particular emotions when killing the person, I'm just indifferent to it. I personally don't like sharing stories of when I have crazy sex with three women in a plane flying through the galaxy because it's my own personal business and as you can see a dream can reveal alot about a person. There is so much amazing things to do in a dream I dobn't know why I would waste my time doing sick stuff.

First of all, why rape a dream character? Second of all why waste a lucid dream on raping people?

Killing people brutally? O . O You are not sick, it's just a dream or a thought, I don't judge you, but you may want to consider learning lucid dreaming for better purposes than that, because I promise you there are.

Also remember that a dream character is subconscious, emotional or memory representation of something of yourself, would you really like to brutally murder or rape that part of yourself?

There are far better uses for lucid dreams than things that are violent.

Try to make something fun: travel around the world, imagine new worlds, I don't know, but there's a lot to do!

People do share their LD experiences. Maybe just not as many people rape and kill brutally as you think. By the way, why do you think that?

What are you my therapist? Are you trying to make me spill my beans so you have something sick to read? And no, lucid dreams are not just dreams. You are orchestrating them. You choose your actions. If you have no desire to rape or brutally kill in waking life, why would you be interested in experiencing how it feels in lucid? It would feel the same as in waking life. Do you have secret desire to rape and cause harm?

No. People doing sick stuff, because they want to know how it feels and they enjoy doing sick stuff in waking life also.

Well it's not particularly sick, but during a lucid dream that was turning into a bit of a nightmare, I noticed a gun I decided to shoot myself to see what it would feel like to die, or to at least die within a dream....there was no real sensation of pain or anything, just tingling and I felt like my body was moving upwards through stars, or at least a dark background with bright lights. Still lucid I ended up in a room with an elderly lady and I was quizzing her on the meaning of life etc... She was responding in riddles, it seemed to make sense at the time but upon awakening I had forgotten a lot of what was said and it made no sense to me anyway

Lead to quite a strange experience. Not particularly sick at all, but not something that I would want to try during waking consciousness (I don't think I am suicidal anyway).

This thread seems like a way for the OP to try and reassure his/herself that the perverse things they do in lucid dreams are the norm, which to me they certainly aren't.
In fact, I've made a sexual advance on a dream character before and been rejected, she pushed my hand away and I left it there.

Being rejected by your own subconscious! FFS!

I had a dream recently that escalated into attempted rape. At first I was disturbed by my actions - I was not lucid per se but felt upon waking that I had been in control of my actions (as I believe we always are to varying extents - I'm not sure of the consensus here), convinced of the authenticity of the dream scenario. However, further reflection has given me an insight into human behaviour.

You see, what started as a misunderstanding lead to, from one perspective, "justifiable" harassment of me by a woman. In order to quell the affront, I made physical protest, she resisted and greater reactionary violence ensued. At this level of physical contact with a member of the opposite sex, thoughts of a particular nature (stressing that last word) are programmed within us to occur and, in my semi conscious state of reduced inhibition I opted to act on these thoughts-turned-urges. As you may be happy to here my broader mind would not let me commit such a crime and sent an elderly man to put some lead into my chest.

Each step was forgiveable of an ignorant creature such as my sleeping self, ruled by emotion and deprived of clear thought. Anyway I thought I'd add this as it seemed relevant to the thread, if not the OP.

P.s. I joined the forum slightly before the topic of rape came to my attention.

Personally, I feel that sexual actions should be removed from your dreams, as you may feel disappointed by "the real thing", if you know what I mean.. Don't get me wrong, if someone desires to perform sexual activity in their dream, that's fine by me, but from a personal point of view, I don't see the point :)

I honestly have no idea what I'd want to be done in a lucid dream that I can't do in real life. Nothing at all, no wish-fulfilling scenarios to play out. Yeah I do have some daydreams and desires, but what's the deal if they're merely an illusion in your dream?

Our lives are illusions! yes a dream is only a simulated reality adhering to the rules placed upon it by the waking world but since when was there a rule for what counts as valid or not. In reality all of our actions have no effect what so ever, all we are doing is shifting around some molecules, in the scientific world we are merely robots acting out according to rules, so you ask what makes a human, human? Experience, if you feel joy in a dream there is no difference in feeling than when we feel joy in real life, we only start thinking about the process afterwards as we apply logic that has been taught to us since we were children. If you were raised to spend your life trying to dream you would wonder why you need anything other than the basics to survive. Do you understand where I'm coming from? you only believe that dreams are insignificant because you were taught this.
Personally I like to believe in a mix of dreams and reality, I love dreams because to me they count as a memory, and experience. When I look back a them I can find just as much joy as when I think back to waking memories. However I also like to tell people what I experienced in these dreams. I can't see why I would limit myself to worldy restraints in a dream when I can basically do anything.
Have you never wanted to see what a star looks like, to fly over a jungle, to fight orcs on a different planet? I can think of thousands of things to do.

That's situational. If you look at the dreamt up wall and think "wow it looks real" and feel amazement, of course it's a real emotion of amazement, and it's on par with everything else.

But let's say that you created a dream in which you're with a person you can't have, and you feel joy. Would you still say it's no difference whether it's real or not? Or is it inability to cope with reality popping up? Moreso, if you really like that person, you'd never want a fake copy.

Dreams may have something of their own going, and you can study their nature and explore and find other uses for them. But using dreams as wish-fulfillment for what you can't get in reality? It sounds like you haven't had your share of doing that by other means yet.

They aren't insignificant, I simply don't see the appeal of using them to fulfill wishes.

The truth is that I've already done that and more in my imagination, computer games, movies, books, etc. Dreams pale in comparison to all that and its history. Using them as another means to simulate daydreams doesn't sound exciting.

And that doesn't take away much from them. I'm still amazed at my own knack to scare myself shitless in dreams and am still puzzled why I'm doing it. Isn't it amazing to see the unknown part of you that you'd never suspect to exist. Dreams are like true mirrors of the soul.

And as for a soul that insists on using dreams for wish-fulfillment, that tells us something about it, too, doesn't it?
