Motivation
Anyone have any ideas on how to stay motivated. I mean ive been doing MILD for 2 Months and have had only 5 lucid dreams. The work:reward ration is just demeaning. How do you guys stay motivated. I usually have a lucid dream right when i'm about to throw in the towel but I havent had one in weeks.

I found all the motivation I ever wanted in the last lucid dream I had. Before that I could probably say I had much the same experience as you, with perhaps a few more successes, but just the general sense that what I was chasing after was so fleeting and evanescent. The last lucid I had though was just the most vivid experience I've ever had in a dream, and it made me realize just what the brain is capable of doing. I guess it's intriguing enough to drive me forward, especially with the chances that I'll get better at it over time to the extent that my success rate is much higher. Honestly two months and already five lucids for just a beginner is really good. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

I agree with the previous reply ^^
Whenever I have dry spells, I'd read my journal epecially the lucid entries. I realize how awesome it felt, and everything I was able to do which I'd never be able to do irl. Furthermore, I write a list of goals I have yet to accomplish in my lucids, and that motivates me even more. I also try to analyze what's I've been doing so I know which aspects to change. Sometimes I'd change techniques, or routines.
Also, 5 lucids in 2 months isn't too bad! :D Have you tried pairing MILD with WBTB? That could yield better results.
Good luck!

I would do the goal thing. I haven't had any lucids that were very vivid and where I was aware. But I know I'll get there eventually. So just make a bunch of goals that you can do and it helps. For me it helps anyway

Old DJ entries is the best way to regain motivation. Movies too perhaps. Or why don't just take a short break and come back after that?

My goal is not lucidity, my goal is awareness of my dreams.
If you pay attention to your normal dreams as well you will soon see that they can be just as enjoyable and teach you very much about yourself.
In turn the interest for my normal dreams increase the amount of lucid dreams at the same time. So it's something to consider. Do you appreciate your dreams enough?
But for just general motivation I like to watch the Matrix! :D
And also change your perspective from focusing on the bad to focusing on the good.
Don't focus on the fact that you didn't had a lucid dream one night, focus on the fact that you have had 5 lucid dreams and ask yourself, what did I do then that I don't do now?
Also write down everything you learn and discover in your dream journal for the future you. ;)

Usually when i tell myself before bed "I probably wont be a lucid dream and probably wont remember my dreams" and last times, it had the oppisite effect

I like to read other peoples dream journals. Nothing gets me motivated like jealousy.

Keep in mind that what you want to learn is one of the most amazing, mystical experiences humans can have. It would make sense for it to take years and more years to get good at. Have you been at it more than say 3 years? Perhaps not even 1 full year?
This is just like any rare talent. It takes massive effort and patience or everyone would be doing it. When I teach martial arts, there are always kids who think they should be doing moves out of the movies with in the first month. To stay motivated I can simply say to you: This path will take many years, but if you stick to it, the most unbelievable wonderful experiences await you.
So what if for the first 5 years you move forward slowly and it takes patience for little reward? In the end you get to fly, have unlimited sex with movie starts, go to the moon, transform into a dragon, and walk on water. ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE!!! Stay motivated with the future of LD mastery as your goal, not the next LD.
