I normally find that the field of vision is being created as you turn your head. Out side of it can exist the concept of action, such as knowing other men are fighting beside you on a battle field.
Really weird stuff: If you can avoid having a pre-conceived notion of what you will see, and suddenly turn around you can see the visual field glitch and rush to try and come up with images. If you can avoid random thoughts, then when you turn your head you can see just a blank neutral colored field. It is like the white training room in the Matrix.
